I totally enjoy mysteries / thrillers and the small portion that I read left me wanting more, as did tge official review. I'm not thrilled to hear about the cliffhanger ending though. I will have to read the whole book and make my own determination.

I'm not a fan of cliffhangers, either. Glad to know you enjoyed it, despite that. :)

I'm a firm believer in NOT leaving cliffhangers at the end of books, even in series. I like series that are connected, but you can read each book as a stand alone too, like Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, or similar. I do like the premise of this one though. Your high marks despite the ending must mean it's a pretty good one.

The first part of this review sounds like the book is pretty technical. Whenever I reread the review, I ask myself if I really want to read this book. Does anyone else have more info to offer? Im not into too much technical stuff, especially if it takes away instead of adding to the story.

Great review! This sound like a very interesting story. Murder, mystery, intrigue, and mayhem. I'm in. I'm not a fan of how the title is broken into two lines, and the cover is a little boring.

Excellent review. It amazes me how the author has taken a piece of history and turned it into an exciting piece as you described. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to reading the book.

Thank you for the review, sounds like a good book. It provided a good introduction of the story. At first it is a little confusing but as it progresses, it shows the outline of what it's all about. The introduction of the characters are really planned well. I'm not into cliffhanger though. But not the less, it's still interesting and is indeed a nice review.

Great review. I think the rationale for the 'cliffhanger ending' of the book was made so that if ever the author wants to have a sequel or a part two, he can do so and pick up where he left.

Wow, not knowing what's going to happen next and be surprised by the twists makes this book a must read. Thanks for the great review, I agree with what you said about the ending, I'm not a fan cliffhangers too but it seems that the author did an excellent job in writing the ending though.

Such a wonderful misery and thriller genre. It is so much interesting as it narrates the construction of the Panama Canal. I think I will enjoy this book, thanks for this great review.
