Escape is a well-suiting title for this book. The story revolved around two main characters that lived a life exactly different from one another and how they met in an unlikely way in Middle East. Being together had put their lives on risk as they found themselves in the middle of an international conflict. The story runs deep since it talked about the dangers of a country working on nuclear weapons. Also, it depicts how one country’s greed can destabilize the balance of the world and how abuse of power can ruin people’s lives.
I liked number of things in this book such as, one, the story is fast-paced. I felt like, literally and figuratively, that every second counts. The author has a unique way of drawing her readers in. Also, she did a fairly good job in describing the nature of the main characters. The first chapters of the book revolved in defining their differences in life and status. It made me anticipate for their fateful meeting that by the way, didn't disappoint. Furthermore, I enjoyed the ending of this story. It was heart-warming and satisfying. The issues were all resolved but at the same time, it could make you curious of what could happen next.
On the other hand, what I didn't like about this book is that some of the parts weren't that convincing. I thought that some of it was too much of a coincidence. It was like forced just to make a bigger picture. Moreover, since it is some sort of action AND romance novel, the flow of the story seemed confusing at times. In the parts where I expected more actions, mushy scenes were followed instead. Also, I felt that the falling-in-love part was also rushed. I liked the action parts, I liked the sweet sides, but together, they didn't make a perfect pair.
I am giving this book a 2 out of 4 rating. In all honesty, I found this very entertaining but everything felt superficial. Perhaps, it’s because I simply didn't like the blend of romance and action in the story. Furthermore, I also appreciate the cultural basis of the story but some of it might be misleading. One should keep an open mind in reading since it may cause religious misunderstanding.
I think the story would suit individuals who just want an enjoyable, sexy romantic thriller read. The author writes well and will surely keep you entertained.

Speaking of that, I haven't watched that movie yet! Haha. I must check it out one of these days. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, harmony hills <3Harmony Hills wrote:Romance and action could be enjoyed such as Mr. and Mrs. Smith. But that one's a movie, and i guess it's different when it comes with a book. Good job on the review. You pointed out the good and bad points of the book clearly.

Yes.readandsmile wrote:"abuse of power can ruin people’s lives". This situation is happening in our world today. We can't control it even if we try, there is always a sacrifice. Most leaders use power for fame and luxury.
