Re: The advantage of reading

Reading opens up so many new worlds and ideas for a person. It keeps your brain active and acute. It can also help you through rough times. When I went through my divorce I went through hundreds of books. I was too lost in the lives of the characters on the pages to have time to feel sorry for myself. It brings comfort and its something you can share with other people. People who love to read love to talk about the books they've read.

The advantage is that it doesn't really have a disadvantage. So much can come from reading.

I think reading is the basis for all learning so everyone should learn to read. Also, reading a good story can take you away to places you might not ever get a chance to go to.

I get to learn new opinions of authors and sometimes some of these authors can change my point of views. It widens my perspectives.

Reading give me a reason to exist, so that I keep turning the pages instead of 'closing the book'.

What can I say about reading? It just does so much! Not only does it boost your vocabulary to such a large degree... but it also allows you to explore... people.. places and events outside where you live in a way far more exciting that just watching it on the news. Yes you can explore this by watching television visually but reading evokes your imagination and allows it to create these events in your mind through the simple use of words on a page! In the words of Paris Hilton 'love it!' :D

There are so many advantages of reading. I don't think one can list them all. It opens your mind, gives you experience of sorts, teaches you new words and language structure, entertains you, informs you, etcetera etcetera.
