Raven’s Peak by Lincoln Cole is a compelling read that invites the reader to the supernatural world. The story begins with a captivating scene, with great energy that keeps the reader glued to the book. In a small, old village called Ravens Peak lies dark secrets known to very few. When strange things start to happen in Raven’s Peak, Abigail Dressler is the only one who seems to understand the danger upon the town. Abigail has a mandate to save Raven’s Peak but also has to deal with Haatim Arison whom she rescued from a terrifying fate that was previously unknown to him. To her surprise, Haatim proves to be more helpful than she thought would be. Together they defeat a demonic threat they had never thought existed and ultimately save the old town from the council’s plans for destruction.

I liked that the author managed to indirectly highlight the significance of religion and religious leader in his story. Many times people do not see religious leaders for what they really are. The character Haatim in Raven’s Peak is a perfect example of a child who grew up with a religious dad whom he didn’t think would have any secrets. He is shocked when he learns about the secret council and his dad’s active membership. He finally gets to understand some things that he wished he knew.

Although the story was extremely exciting, at some point I felt the story losing the suspense which was giving the story its thrill. I could somehow predict the characters next move and anticipate the outcome. I could say that to some extent I disliked the predictability in the story. Overall, I enjoyed reading the book with no regrets!

I would highly recommend Raven’s Peak to anyone who is looking for some thrill. The uncertain twists in the story and the vivid descriptions will get them hooked to the very end of the story. All you will need is a warm comfortable spot to relax as you experience the unraveling of the adventures in the book.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I could without a doubt feel that the author was keen to entertain the reader and at the same time, kept the story flowing. The plot is elegant and easy to follow. Moreover, there is a lot of dialogue through the text which draws the reader closer to the characters in the book.
