The book my Trip-to-Adele is a three in one story book co-authored by R.I ALYASEER and A.I ALYASEER who are siblings but love Adele and her songs. They were obsessed with her latest album 25 so they went to her concert in Verona which inspired them to write the novel. The novel is about three different actor of Nadia and her son in Amman Jordan, Elias and Malika in Rome and Marrakesh Morocco and Yaser and Mariam in Las Vegas in the USA.Both living in different parts of the world but share a common love for Adele and her songs. Both wanted to be at Adele's concert at Verona. The novel is about Love and relationship.
What I like about the book is how the authors translated their real life obsession of Adele's songs to make three different characters but made sure that the story still remains unified.making sure that the reader gets same flow in the three stories of love tradition and relationship.but they made sure for the story to remains on.Both characters loved Adele's songs and at the end both wanted to attend her concert in Verona.
I like the way the authors concentrated on Educating the reader on the impact of some our outdated traditions still being practiced in our societies.Example in the case of Yaser and Mariam who despite the fact that both were learned Doctors, could not escape the consequence of following bad tradition. They got married only because of traditional pressure that dictated that you had to get married at a certain age and have a family.which led them to serious marital problems.same with Nadia and her ex-husband which bad tradition made her husband take their son to his third wedding which led to the son being shot but the tradition dictated that the tribal Elders court can negotiate and their word was final and women input was not required.
I did not like the inclusion of the prostitution chapter, especially in the Elias Malika story.I feel that the rampant prostitution part in Marrakesh Morrocco and Yaser and her phone lover Isabelle part eroded the good flow of informative marital relationship style the authors were pushing along and brought in the mixed feeling of lust and pornographic kind of idea.I didn't like the inclusion of child prostitution and the story of Malika and Canze Malawi in this Novel. But I don't say that coz I hate pornographic material, it's only that I felt that the authors would have directed the novel to the Educative side concerning the impact of tradition on relationships and marriage.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because for me it's an Educative book highlighting the wrongs in our traditions and how they impact in marriages and relationships in our societies. The inclusion of pornographic parts made me rate the book 1 point less.
