From Drift to Shift is book of inspiration written by Jody B. Miller, career and life coach and motivated many people find real happiness in their work and in their lives. This nonfiction book was published in New York, New York by Morgan James Publishing.

The book has four sections that explain the process of shifting and its meaning. The first section tells the reader about why should one make a shift in life. The next section discusses about when to shift. The next section is about how to shift and then the last is what happens after the shift. Each section is subdivided into chapters which narrates stories of people to illustrate bravery and courage in their journey to make the shift. The stories of overcoming obstacles lead them to find the purpose and meaning of their existence. Each one is in pursuit of happiness and they have to remove roadblocks in order to make the shift happen. And when they do, fulfillment sets in.

The author's personal interaction with people in the story gave unique, personalized narration of their account. The presentation of their stories focused on experiences which made them decide to shift. Depression and pain brought about by traumatic experiences can be chanelled to positivity. Just like that of the people in the story. Readers can surely reflect on their own experiences upon reading the stories of Serita, Reid, Emilee, Jerry and others who made shifting moments very inspirational.

From Drift to Shift is an interesting and relatable book. It gives the readers room to reflect on their own lives whether they are in the right path or are merely drifting. I even find myself going back to the phrases I intentionally highlighted while reading. I particularly love the load of take away after every chapter. I actually shared a favorite one to a friend who is in battle with his career at the time am reading the book. The appendix of the book is rich in information which could be the author's bonus give away. Most of it are actually guide for readers in the process of transforming their lives.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I like how the author use characters in the bible as well as passages which discusses about the process of shifting. This book is very relevant at all times and is commendable to young people, professionals, housewives and anyone who are searching for meaning in their lives. It has actual learning that a layman can apply to his daily life. Some typographical errors appear from time are forgiveable. There is no reason why everyone cannot have this book. Hats off to Jody B. Miller.
