It doesn't sound like a light read. Sounds like it has great interest, but it's just not for me. Thanks for the review, though.

You are very welcome. Yes, after reading the book, I also thought that this is not for everyone.

This is one of the books that make you ask 'Who am I? I think it goes beyond the theory. Good to read it, good to face facts.

The Novel, Life Before, is written by K.L Romo. The book's main idea is how the past life of an individual can affect the present and future life of the same person. It is a heart-wrenching story of a young girl whose past life was awful as she engaged herself in prostitution. She is now a mother to grown-up children but cannot forgive herself for the mistakes she committed in the past. The harrowing experience of prostitution and the ghosts of her past keep haunting her irrespective of the fact that many years have passed.

The author uses two personalities to describe this woman. The present day stay-at-home mature woman is referred to as Elaine Dearborn while the prostitute from her past is referred to as Eliza Genevieve Darling (EGD). Elaine is determined to pursue her long dream as a writer and has all the time in the world do so now that she is a stay-at-home mom taking care of no one precisely.

The book is well written in a language that is indeed very professional. I liked the use of stylistic devices like similes and metaphorical phrases. For instance, when the author writes 'The words were like a small stream, running downhill faster and faster until it turns in to a swiftly moving river' and 'Like spilled milk spreading across the breakfast table', it makes the story flow and gives the reader something to ponder on. It made me imagine and figure out the real situation. I love the book because it is indeed a good piece of advice to the parents and young girls to always be on the lookout as actions cannot be undone once done. I rate the book a 4 out 4 for the fact that it touched my soul, i felt i was i sailing in the same boat as the main character and never wanted to be detached from her throughout the book.
