I chose love. My husband was prior service when we first met, and after we got married he decided to re-enlist in active duty Army. I had been the breadwinner at the time. However, I was pregnant and wanted the ability to stay home with our child(ren) (we now have two) so I chose to follow my husband wherever he would be stationed. We are now at our second duty station together, getting ready to move to a third. I am incredibly happy. Once our kids start school I will go about getting a job again, but family was more important to me right now.

If you are ever fortunate to be in love then your career can only ever come second. Of course, you can fall out of love, but by the same token, you can also lose your job and your career.

It will depend on the status one is in; whether married or single. For singles, you can easily choose career over love, but for the married it isn't easy.

What is the point of life but to love and be loved in return? I would always choose love.

I would probably also choose career, unless I was really really in love with the person.

I did chose career first. My husband and I were still dating then and he supported my choice. We postponed the wedding and then picked it back up when I reached my goals (he was working on his during that time too).

I love my career but if love comes between it, I would always choose love. True love is hard to come by.

This is the kind of situation where one has to burn a lot of brain, but the answer is always love! Career can always be started anew

I'm more or less what you would call a hopeless romantic. I would (foolishly?) choose love every time over any career. Although having a life's work that you care about and continue to grow is absolutely something everyone should strive to attain, I believe that the personal value of having someone that you love and loves you in return overshadows anything in the material world.

I will require wisdom to balance the two but in a situation where the career is having an adverse effect on my love life I will have to reconsider. I believe after all has been said and done in life we will still fall back to the ones we love. A career can be built all over again with dedication and commitment but love is so fragile. I haven't been in such circumstance but the best thing to it is being able to strike a balance between the two.

With my experience in mind, I will always choose career over love. I think it is a more worthwhile enterprise.
