Which is more cruel desert or sea

I'm wary of the sea because of sharks and the like, but I absolutely cannot stand the heat, so perhaps in my case, the desert is much crueler. At least in the sea, there are a few alternatives in order to stay alive. In the desert, there's not much to go by.

I think desert can give you more painful death. You being caught amidst any sand dune and standing in the face of death i cant imagine any death more horrible than this. But yes of course, sea is a predator which is a bit quicker in taking your life away.

In the sea, it must be assumed that you are on some craft. In the desert, to be even you have to be riding, a camel or a car. Any or both could be cruel or forgiving.

Sea is better than desert because in sea one can drink water from sea while in desert it would be difficult to find even a bit water and death is not far.

The desert is more cruel because of extreme heat during the day and very low temperature at night. On the other hand if one is afloat in the sea, say in a boat with a broken engine of a raft you possibly catch fish for food. But both the desert and the sea are dangerous in the absence of potable water.

I choose the ocean because even if you get burnt by the sun there's water to cool you down and make you a tad less miserable.

It all depends on how one finds himself. If one faces a sandstorm in the desert and ends up being buried alive, wouldn't it be a faster death than a person who may be having to hold onto some rafters and is helplessly loosing grip and the constant fear of marauding sharks?
It all depends on what exact circumstances one would find themselves in.

I prefer the desert to the sea. The sea can swallow a person faster and quicker than the desert. With the desert, there hope of survival.

I grew up only an hour away from Death Valley, CA so I'm much more comfortable in a barren wasteland of desert than an endless sea. Sharks and deep water freak me out and I've walked miles in the desert before so I'll take the desert over the sea any day!

The desert is crueler than the sea. There are ways to make the sea a more survivable companion. The heat from the sun, to me, just seems an unbearable obstacle.

I think both of them have their share of cruelties. The sea could drown you, or you could be attacked by it's many creatures. The desert can kill with it's insanely drying heat and lack of water. However, I agree that the sea may be a little more merciful than the desert when it comes to taking you faster.

I was going to say the sea because of sea animals such as sharks and killer whales, but then I thought....the desert WOULD be a slow and painful death. Ughhhh. I don't know. I'm going with the sea. I hate the prospect of drowning - I can't swim.

Just thinking about it scares the hell out of me...i cann't picture myself in either of the places in very harsh conditions.
