I loved this series and collected them, I went from those to Sweet Valley High. I think my collection ended with 150, but I finally gave them all away.

Such a staple of a preteen's reading diet. I read maybe a quarter of the series, always was dying for more! It's my dream to one day have them all - I want to line them up and read right through the series whenever I please

They are squeaky clean and slightly preachy, but who cares, it's wholesome fun. I always loved the California Girls special.

I liked this series too. We bought a bunch of books at a yard sale once that had two or three of them in it, and my 8 year old son has become a huge fan.

I loved the series but unfortunately I got rid of them. They were great since I was about the same age as the characters.

I loved this series when I was younger. My classmates and I used to exchange these books and at the end of the day, I read a good percentage of these books.

I read several... okay, most... of the books in the BSC series. I, too, skipped the second chapter and have gotten into referring the character description chapters in other series as "the BSC" chapter (namely, the Anita Blake series which is definitely NOT child-friendly).

These books were light and fun. I have a signed copy of the Mallory Christmas book, and I used to have the Kristy doll.

The California Diaries series was quite more mature. It dealt with issues such as skipping class and, if I recall correctly, underage drinking.

They have recently (as in the past few years) been adapting the books into graphic novel form, which I think is really cool. Graphic narratives (or comic style) is growing in popularity and introducing it to children as an acceptable and valid form of entertainment for all ages and genders is such a good thing.

I remember when I first started reading these, my local public library had multiple rows of them and multiple copies of each since they were so popular the waiting lists got ridiculously long. When they had several consecutive books available, I would get them and go through a few a weekend.

Some parts, such as the really low hourly rate or how small the pool of potential clients was, have not aged well, but I still have fond memories and the newspaper article about AMM ending the series.

I read these! I regret selling them. I never finished them all, there were so many, but I read a great deal of them. Wish I had kept them.

I didn't realize there were 200 books! I remember watching the show, but I have to get into a series that has that many books!
