Oooh I like the concept of this one. I've think you've sold it to me on the fact that the reader won't feel completely depressed at the end. I also agree it sounds like a quick read because it's not too lengthy, but also fast paced and well written so you just keep turning the pages. A great review.

It really is so very hard to find any thriller that doesn't, at the very least, have a lot of swearing and at least one gratuitous sex scene, that this one is well written and clean is a bonus, because then I am not hesitant to recommend it to others who may be mortified (like my mother). Great review!

This book covers the recent epidemic a large number of younger population is suffering from-Infertility. People can do unpredictable things after several unsuccessful treatment cycles. So, this book is very close to the reality of the highly stressful infertile couples. Thanks for sharing your views.
What is the most special thing I did today- I was MYSELF. Happy and in love and unapologetically myself.

All those things have their place, but I really enjoyed the clean nature of this one. Nice to recommend to teens and those who are squeamish! Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the kind words kandscreely :) I hope you enjoy the book Ginger, Cat, and The Researcher.

I too enjoy a thriller that doesn't make you hate the world. I wrote Fortunate Monsters because I think it's pretty likely to be less science fiction than science fact one of these days.

I and my husband suffered from infertility for several years and through a successful IVF had twins. I saw them first as 8-celled zygotes. Now organizations all over the world are using CRISPR to edit DNA. I find myself wondering if we are entering an era where families and fertility doctors will begin trying to engineer children . . .

It's impossible to believe that, sooner or later, someone won't be working hard to create "Fortunate Monsters".

At any rate, I very much look forward to hearing people's thoughts on the work :)

Great review. The questions you've asked at the beginning are quite relevant. It all boils down to our motives behind what we want to do.

Sounds like a different kind of thriller. Trying to have a baby is not a normal thriller starting point.

Your review is fantastic! I really want to read this book now. I don't like to read too much graphic scenes, which is why I don't usually read crime, mystery, or thriller. This sounds something more up my alley.

Sometimes desperate people go any length to get their desires. I want to read this book to know how this couple exploited their only option left, to have a child of their own. Nice review.

I've heard of couples that have done not only illegal things but also things that may be considered immoral in order to get pregnant. The desire to have children is natural in a marriage; however, there are people that go beyond the "normal" methods to conceive, I would say. The title here does intrigue me, monsters? Thanks for the intriguing review!

We normally see this scenario plan out as a comedy. This will be an interesting twist as a total thriller.
