I have loomed over this book for some time now. It was the book of the month previously and for that I had read it. It is very interesting and something I recommend to others.

Nice review. I was sure that this was going into my TBR list as I read the sample on Amazon and was drawn into the story right away. I love a good thriller that I can sink my teeth into. However I don’t know now. I don’t enjoy a book that needs a second read and font usually do so if it isn’t a great read the first time around. Thanks so much for sharing.

Stories of betrayal are shadows of what happens in real life. If the government wants you out of the system or wants to eliminate you, what chance do you have?
A nice review.

It's a shame that, despite its spy thriller aspects, this book doesn't live up to its exciting start. Also Karis' secret is clearly a bit of a let down! I note that this might provide a quick light read, even if the pace isn't exciting.

Moyle is putting up a team so as to bid for the expansion of Panama Canal. Sarah is extremely amused by the news but after a few minutes remembers that Max has already signed another contract with her father. The Panama Canal expansion project is not just an ordinary venture but a dangerous undertaking characterised by deceit, political manoeuvring and financial greed by numerous states eyeing the tender. Max being on the winning tender team, finds himself framed-up for sabotage and murder of Panama Canal Administration official. He is now left with his only newly found girlfriend, Karis Deene, an environmental researcher at the Institute of Panama to confine in. Karis has a dangerous secret that not only would change the entire world power balance but would also destroy Max.

When I read this book I couldn't help myself but award it a 4 out 4 score.

Thanks for a great review. I’m not sure this book would grab my attention, but I’ve been surprised before. Sometimes I’ve read a book I felt on the fence about and gone back and loved it. Sometime it works the other way. No doubt we bring our own life into our reading.

This book seems to be very popular for the book of the day because this is my third post about it. I like that it is a spy thriller and a corruption novel. I think that the genres could have been mixed better so that the plot could have flowed more smoothly. The issues regarding the pace could have been solved with adding more details to the main and background characters.

Thanks for the review. I guess it won't be a bad idea to find out the secret Karis is keeping away from Max. I'll read the book soon.

Thanks for the review! From the sample I just read I also got the impression that this would be a fast-paced novel. It seems like a really good read from the first few chapters but Your review has me thinking otherwise

Thank you for a great honest review Jax14 on The Expansion. A thriller filled with espionage, revenge, betrayal and family feuds sounds intriguing, even if it is slow in the middle. Thanks to Christoph.

I really enjoy when authors write about the behind the scenes of the event taking place in the novel. It gives more depth to spy and political thrillers. Congrats on book of the day! Great review!

Seeing the cover of this book and reading the first part of your review made me think this would be an exciting thriller, but you mention that it starts out exciting and then kind of slows down. Too bad the book didn't leave much of an impression. Great job on the review though!

Thanks for your honest and helpful review. I agree that the beginning does start with a bang, and sounds promising, but if this level of intrigue wanes throughout then maybe I'll pass on reading it.

I feel sorry for Max. He surely had it rough after his parents' death and then the betrayals at his current job. It would be exciting to read how he tackles all his problems. Thank you for your review!
