A series of vignettes, each separate, yet all working together to tell a story? Sounds intriguing. Seems like an interesting political drama. Hope to read the book!

I read the sample on Amazon and was actually considering getting it. Then I read your review. I'm glad I did and didn't waste my money. I just figured that at some point in the book, there would be follow-up to what was in the sample. Finding out that the author never does actually "finish" the stories about each of the characters is enough to make me pass. Additionally, grammatical errors drive me crazy. I do have to say, the little teaser you put in about the LARGO cult was good.

I don't think I have ever read a book like this before. It seems very interesting and I like how each chapter focuses on a different character. Great job on the review!

Great review! I agree with you on being sad when I don't find out the outcome of characters especially ones that I become attached to while reading. Truth be told, I generally love dystopian novels but somehow this one doesn't grab my attention. Perhaps the plot seems a bit hard for me to break through. Nonetheless I must mention that I read a sample of the book and was impressed with the author's use of vivid descriptive language. I could see it all with my mind's eye.

What an innovative way of connecting stories. I need to read this book in order to know how different stories were tied together to make "overall story of destruction".

I'm the type of reader who likes getting the full scope of a character, which is why I generally prefer novels over anthologies or collections. I like the idea of a bunch of stories linking to make an overall big picture narrative though!

This is a very thought provoking story of the possible fallout of foolish political actions and the evil of man’s heart. It is real enough to genuinely frightening. I would recommend this for mature adult readers.

I think I would like to see the different perspectives of an event. Your review reminds me of the movie Vantage Point and I really enjoyed that movie.

The book Going Gone, almost gives You a look into the live of these men and you get to progress as the characters progress. Learning what its like to slip up or slip away. Knowing the reasons why they do what they do. Thinking of a way to do something and having the characters do something not in spite of surprise but explaining why it's better. It's very detailed and sucks you right into the universe. I'm really excited on knowing how it ends.

I have enjoyed the sample very much. The book is well-written with excellent and engaging descriptions of action and thought. I was intrigued to see how the different characters in each chapter thus far would relate, although I was aware that some already were most likely to be incidental...responsible for a seemingly small but significant part. It makes sense to read in your review that this is the overall style/technique of Going Gone.
A mix of current events and global concerns, snapshots of the people affected, with a mystery to be solved. Going Gone sits easily I need the thriller/crime genre and the author ensures an easy, enjoyable read.

I really enjoy dystopian books. I read the sample, but your review is what sold the book for me. I'll give it a shot. Thank you for the review!

I would have usually ignored this book because it’s not something I usually read. Not to mention, it feels like a gloom and doom for me. But reading this review made rethink a bit and give it a try. It helps to know it was an easy read and only few chapters. I’m also looking forward to meet all the characters and see how their perspectives differ from one another.
