I started to read the sample, and was enjoying it. The writer sets the scenes very well. Unfortunately, I have an anxiety disorder and this intrigue seems like it may be a bit much for me. On a different day, I may be feeling better and be up for intrigue. I will keep this on my shelf just in case.

Wow, that sounds like an interesting crime novel full of fascination!!! I love crime novels with a twist of law in them. I would love to read the whole book sometime. Thanks for the review.

Wow, that sounds like an interesting crime novel full of fascination!!! I love crime novels with a twist of law in them. However, with this one, I smell a season of romance between Samantha and Mike...I would love to read the whole book sometime. Thanks for the review.

i love suspenseful books, they keep me intrigued and guessing. and as for this book being narrated alternately between the past and the present, it can be confusing and frustrating indeed but i welcome it as a challenge. good job on the review!

When I read the synopsis, Erin Brockovich came to my mind too. I don't know about unpredictable, I think I can kind of guess where the story will go and how it will end already, but I think the dream aspect may give it a fresh perspective.

My brows were furrowed. My hands gripped my phone tightly and my brows were drawn askance. Throughout the review, I didn't realise I actually held my breath until the end. A life before by Julien Ayotte is an amazing book. The mystery was well drawn out, the backstory is just right also. The storyline is definitely catching and the characters are just like normal people we meet in everyday life. It's a book I'll definitely download even if I don't get the opportunity to read the book right now.

Such a great and insightful review! I will admit that usually I don't enjoy the books that bounce between present and past unless it's made clear where you stand. I have read some that with no warning a chapter will be in the past which confuses me, but others, with a simple note at the beginning that it's in the past, are easy to follow. I'm definitely intrigued and will be checking out this book to see how that flow of present to past goes to see if I would enjoy.

I'm so attracted to the cover, it's got mystique written all over it! Little wonder then, that the story involves Samantha having visions, likely of the tragedy that happened before her birth. What gives? I sure would love to find out. I wish I knew Erin Brockovitch that every one's talking about though. Thanks for the intriguing review.

This definitely sounds like a unique take on a paranormal mystery novel with a distinct crime/cover-up element to it. I think I'll have to check this one out to see where it goes!

Thriller mystery, like Erin Brokovich? Sold!
I like books like these. I wonder what the religious concept is.

As the review said, I got hooked as I read the sample. True the major and minor characters were well developed. I love the way the story flowed easily. I can't wait to continue the book. Thanks for an amazingly detailed review.

Whoa...a woman having recurring nightmares, a lawyer grieving over his deceased wife, radon gas, and reincarnation? Sounds pretty intense! It's great to hear that the characters are well-developed and the dialogue worked well throughout. I think the switching between the past and present might be a bit much for me. Also, I'm not a fan of reading about religious controversy and very violent scenes. But, I'm glad that you were able to enjoy this story!

Great review. I've just read the sample and can see how it could get confusing with the jumping back and forward in time, but the story definitely grabbed me, so I think I'll continue.
