Gun-ownership is a topical theme and it is important that writers stay relevant by discussing the issues occurring in the world today. This is certainly my type of book!

I just started reading it last night and it’s really interesting how the author imagines the NRA marketing to seniors. Honestly have to say it sounds plausible in many parts of the country. I would think that there would be a great deal if public outcry in other regions though, at least given the current feelings being voiced right now.

The review certainly gives the thought provoking sense of the book. However, instead of worrying about those who can use the machine for the negative ends. I would love to concentrate on how one could improve in those predicted last days. Since every undertaking has both advantages and disadvantages, the machine is welcome for the purposes that give the benefit in life! I will certainly want to read it!

You had me at '...follows the consequences of a new device that can predict the final days of a human's life." What a premise! What a summary! The rest of the review is fantastic but that summary is definitely a killer! I am a fan of science fiction (and fact); add to that thriller elements and moral questions and I am hooked! Adding to shelf and can't wait to read. Thank you for the wonderful review Sarah.

wow! I totally understand society's need to work through possible answers to questions like these. I already have a firm belief that man is inherently bad and left to their own devices, most people will not do good continually :D We all have those people we can't stand. We all have someone who wronged us. Ultimately, it is our own choices whether we take a gun and murder people or not. When people blame laws, easy access, mental illness, whatever ... it leaves them free to kill with no consequences. It's only when society accepts that the person is liable for decisions made that consequences can be implemented and behavior thwarted.

I like a book that makes me think a lot, I see it as a very strong characteristic of the book. It also reflects on the quality that the books holds. I think I can see how this book will turn out to be since I am currently reading and reviewing this book. Thanks for the heads-up!

I am about 1/3 of the way through this book and I am really enjoying it. What a timely book written about America's obsession with guns, and not far off from the debates going on in our government presently. This read should prove to be very thought provoking.

This sounds awesome! I admit I was turned off a bit by the cover, thinking this was another shoot-em-up action thriller, but this sounds so much deeper and more profound! Gun ownership is such a relevant topic and this is a brilliant use of sci-fi (the death-predicting device doesn’t actually exist after all)...with barely any “fi”! Adding this to my list for sure - thank you for the super informative review.

Thank you for the review on this book by Van Fleisher.
As a retired nurse I think the premise of being able to determine the "end of life" using a watch is quite intriguing. The issue of guns and school shootings that appears to be introduced into the mix is a timely topic that we all need to be thinking about regardless of our personal second amendment beliefs, I do not think, based on this review ,that this author holds the same beliefs that I do but that won't stop me from reading the book and considering his side of this issue.
This review was well written and easy to read.

Wow!! I'm madly in love with this book! It's some what related to the movie "in time" where one is born with "Time" on his/her wrist and spends it just like money! I'll definitely get this book, definitely!!
I like the controversial part and the arguments most especially between the Doctor, government and the gun owner! Thanks Sarah khan for the review.. y'all watch out for mine after reading.😚

A device that notifice people of their time is really intriguing but at the same time it has its consequences so I would rate it 4 star

Even though the topic of gun control is controversial, I think it is also crucial. I am glad the author takes on this subject on what we can do better in regards to gun laws. Congrats on book of the day. Great review!
