Interesting review - thanks! It does sound like quite the exciting story, but I think the faults outweigh the benefits for me at this time. I hope the author shores it up and creates the perfect crime book!

That book started well in the beginning. Even where the sample ends, the book is still interesting to read. When I gather from you that as the story progresses on, then it becomes predictable, then I feel dissapointed.
It seems you liked the book though you have given it a low rating with your reasons where you wish to have rated it 2.5 stars.

It means you are asking us to give the Bill L. Evans some consideration.

Thanks for your review.

Thanks for the review! Tis book sounds interesting, and it's pretty much like reality. The police discovers the crime scene. Everybody is interested in the facts and what truly happened, and by the middle of the case the enthusiasm drops because everything seems to be like every other case. I might read it though, I'm interested to know more about what deductions Bill L. Evens used.

I love the sound of this murder mystery! I also like how this story is told through the eyes of someone "behind the scenes" of the studio and on-air talent, who knows all the ins and outs of how things. As someone who's not part of this industry, I think it'll be quite fascinating to read about the media industry too. I think I'll need to look into this one.

Wow, its unlike other crime movies that you suspect this person as the mastermind of the crime but it would turn out to be another person. I think this book does not flow the way it would be expected, with the suspense of having to find out the perpetrator of the crime. Thanks for the review

Granted, it sounds like there could have been more polished development of the characters and more of a mystery around the guilty party. Since this is a first time publication by the author, I think it shows very good imagination and ability to improve in the future.

Very thorough review! Your honesty is truly appreciated. The book's plot sounded really interesting, my interest was quite piqued by the end of the first paragraph in your review. It is just a real pity that it went downhill. It is very disappointing when a book is predicable, it really takes the fun out of reading a crime thriller. Thanks for your review!

The book begins with an intriguing plot set-up. The star anchor was dead at his desk and found by a newbie at the station. Then the tone switched with sexual virility of the producer being a weak lead in for me and the mystery set-up. This sexual proclivity seems to be an important part of the authors purpose with 4 of the first 7 characters introduced in the story having some indiscretions that they wish to keep hidden from the general public. They want to share the news but, not be a part of the news. I agree with KFree that the plot seems predictable for a light quick summer read with no thought provoking depth of characters.

I like the book expecially about the media which I don't know more about. It will be in my shelf to be read soon. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for your honest review. According to your review, the beginning of the novel is good, but the entire book. It's just not for me. I think I will pass on this one.

Oh boy! The CBS station, who usually reports news, find themselves with mysterious murders in their newsroom. With no evidence, no suspects, and no motive, it sounds like an exciting premise. It's great to hear that the beginning was so captivating and that there are twists and turns to grab the readers' attention. Too bad that the excitement dwindles afterwards, and that you knew everything about halfway through the book. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to continue reading after this. It looks like an interesting concept, but I'm afraid it isn't for me. I'm glad that you were able to find some positives here even with its flaws. Thank you for the insightful review!

Though the book may have its flaws, I find the review provides enough reason to read it. An attempt at a new style can be difficult, I'm sure, so reading it may give me some insight to the mechanics of this style as well as how to improve on it in my own stories.

Thanks for this thoughtful review! I really enjoy murder mysteries and the newsroom setting sounds so cool. It's a shame that it kind of fell apart at the end. :/

I'm biased positively towards murder mysteries and I was excited to read it. I'm disappointed that it doesn't deliver. Thanks to this review, I won't be wasting my time.
