I am a few pages into the book and I already absolutely love it. Everything about the book so far is fascinating. The story of Vince and Trudy, the gun arguments. I definitely recommend this book to others.

One thing i have loved this book, incidents are articulated perfectly.
It's very sad how the NRA would advertise on gun ownership by the senior residents. This if applied in real life, every day would be a lamentating day. nevertheless, i give a merit to mr Van Fleisher.

I have read through a good portion of the book, but I don't think I'll finish it. I don't find the writing style engaging. While the premise was originally interesting, I think the whole thing has been handled badly. I can't say that I've connected to a single character, for good or bad.

The only impending death I was at all interested in was Vince and that was only because that is not something you hear about people in the US dying from very often, even though it's something that you hear mentioned fairly often. That may be because I lived in a rural community for a long time and they take such situations seriously.

Other than that, I didn't care. I couldn't understand some of the motivations given by people for various decisions they made. From what I read, there seems to be an anti-gun sentiment to the book, but the deaths lacked enough emotional power to make a good case.

Since I didn't finish it, I can't give it a rating. I can say that it felt like a waste of potential.

This book couldn't have come at a better time. At this point, we all just need a bit of education, even if it's fiction. There is a need for awareness. I don't know the whole gist of the novel but I'm already intrigued.

Upon reading the review of Final Notice, I am motivated to take up the book. It sounds like a story with an intriguing plot along with interesting characters. The discussion about gun ownership is an important topic that this book explores. I am excited to take up Final Notice.

I have just read the sample of this book but plan to continue to read the rest of the book. So far, the book seems much more political then I expected it to be, but I like that the plot of the book brings multiple story lines together. The book seems well written, and the concept of the story is very unique, which makes for an interesting and intriguing read.

Haven't read the book yet, but the further I dig into these posts to see reviews I am a bit surprised to see quite a few lower numbers. I am wondering if the topic of guns right now is such a sensitive one that maybe this enters into part of these scores in the raters thoughts? Just my observational thoughts...nothing more. I may have to add this book to my reading list soon so I too can determine my own opinion on the gun use in this book. Fascinating reviews. You have all increased my interest.

Those were my thoughts exactly! When a topic like this comes up it’s so important for the book in question to have characters that appeal to both sides.

I didn't really enjoy this book. I read for entertainment or information, and this book provided neither. Perhaps if the book had presented both sides of the issue, I would have seen some value in reading it. I really don't like the incivility and partisanship that dominate politics in America, and this book is a prime example of both. I have recently stopped watching the news because I just cannot stomach any more of it.

I am definitely someone who is pro gun and so (I saw somebody say this and I have to agree with them) I think that made me a little biased as well. However, I do think that overall it was a well written and intriguing piece of writing that piqued my interest.

I am part way through this book. I think the premise of this book is similar to that of having a "last-minute" bucket list. If you were told you would die tomorrow, what would you do?

I like the tie-in between the fact that new technology has its price and the idea that senior citizens are often vulnerable to (what seem to be) believable and appealing salespitches.

Open carrying is now commonplace and there are laws allowing anyone who feels threatened to be allowed to "brandish" their weapon even in public to protect themselves. To me, I thought it was way too easy to imagine life becoming like this. I thought it was a really good look at what things could be like if gun laws went in this direction.

I agree. I can see senior citizens purchasing guns for protection. I wondered at one point whether the author had that as his agenda#
