While the psychological trauma of the protagonist sounds a little too saddening for my taste, I'm curious to read about the dreams and enjoy the rich vocabulary present in the dialogue. For these reasons, I'm willing to check this out but finishing it will depend on how much I can get pulled into the story. Thanks for the information in this review.

I was curious about this book because of the title. Unfortunately, I don't like psychological thrillers. I find them too slow. It's nice that the vocabulary fits the intellectual character whose point of view is used.

Sounds intriguing that the book offers a lot on the state of mind while dreaming. Your review has made me curious about the unfavorable apparitions Charlie encounters while he sleeps.

The rating 4 out of 4 sounds very appropriate based on what the reviewer had to say. However the one comment that I saw on the review said they had a different experience, but not as to how. I am very interested in this book based on the review because I love psychological books.

I love Chicago! I also tend to love stories about broken people and it sounds like Charlie is just that. Psychological trauma very much affects people. I am very excited to read this book!

Ooooh, a psychological thriller. Add in that it's free, and the main character is a musician. Trifecta of great!

I'm glad to hear that the high-quality writing apparent from the sample continues throughout. The interpretation of dreams and processing of trauma are fascinating topics.

Well-written and interesting review. I wouldn't mind reading this psychological mystery to get enlightened about the state of mind while dreaming, too. Seems like a great book.

I'm glad to read that this book doesn't have any spelling or grammar errors, as that usually puts me off a book quickly - good editing is always a huge plus. I love psychological thrillers and I'm keen to read this even more now, especially since I feel I can empathize with Charlie and having an traumatic childhood.

Really thorough review! You seemed really impressed by the author's work, which makes me want to read the novel myself and quite possibly check out this other work. I've just downloaded the book, so I'll go see what all the praise is about :eusa-think:

Thanks for this thorough review. I love psychological mysteries too and I know I will love reading this book. The depth of the plot, the author's masterful handling of grammar to portray Charlie as an intellectual and the well developed characters are the ingredients of a well written book worthy to be read. I congratulate the author for a job well done.

Charlie has it all or rather almost had it all; women, good work, and money until when we was being hunted by his past.
With this book I realised that true happiness is found from within.

From the sample, it is clear that the novel is an exploration of the power of the mind, whether one is awake or asleep. The author tends to use winding sentences that challenge comprehension. This writing style is reflective of the turmoil in Charlie's mind. I wonder how Charlie will emerge at the end when he finally solves the puzzle that started haunting him when he was eight.

A most intriguing review, Klbradley!
