Though the thought of knowing is tempting, I think it would be best not to know. I feel that knowledge would control every aspect of my life and instead of living everyday to the fullest, I would obsess over every detail of my life. I would probably be stressed out until the day I died.

I don't like the idea of being informed when will I die but on the second thought I think it will be good for me if I'll be informed about it. I'll just have to spend my remaining time with my family and friends. I'll just make more memories of them so if the day comes that I have to left them, there will be a moment of saying goodbye than died at the state that you can't say your good byes and I love you.

I find this to be a very interesting topic of conversation; in other words, I more than likely would like to know my expiration day or time (science foretold), but then again, if God wanted me to know, I suspect He would forewarn me. :eusa-think:

Not a good idea. I'd rather not know because I wouldn't want to live in fear of that I were to die in matter of time.

I don't buy the idea of getting to know when i'll idea. Infact I don't like it at all!
After getting to know when you'll die then what next?
Obviously you'll become more prisoned for the rest of your estimated life.
If it were up to me, it wojld be better that we not know.

I personally do not use my time to think about death much. Whether we like it or not, it is inevitable and using time to think about it would be time spent now, time spent not living. and if we were to know when we died, we would have that idea affect and control our actions instead of allowing us to have complete control of our actions.
For example, let's say that I found out I will die in a year. That will give me two options. Either I will spent that year doing everything I ever wanted and live my life carelessly, or I will decide to distance myself from everyone I care about and refuse to be close to anyone to ensure that my death won't cause sadness. Had I never known that I would die in a year, I would have continued reaching for my dream and living life the way I wanted to instead of having the situation, my thoughts and future, affect me now.
Although the idea of knowing when we will die can be intriguing, once you spend most of your time obsessing about death and having it control you is when you waste your time from living your way.

I have thought about this before. I would like to say that I wouldn't want to know but the sad truth is that I am nosy. Even if I didn't want to know, id find out. I just try to live everyday as if it could be my last because you just never know.

I totally agree with you. Predicting death is like killing the person before the scheduled time

This is an age old question. When you look at the events in the bible about the beginning and the end of times and you weigh that against the practice of religion. One is inclined to believe, on the conscious and subconscious level, that the events of the modern times ride along the lines for a specific eventuality. The behaviour exhibited by different generations indicates a clear pattern guided by the holly book itself. Now the question becomes, are these events a natural process and progression of the human race? Or are peoples behaviour influenced to some extent by the knowledge of imminent destruction of the world?

I would say, if you know when you are going to died you are likely to behave in a manner that will eventually lead to your death but on the opposite spectrum, you might just die trying to avoid dying. This would have a huge impact on the choices you make and whether you are able of living life to its full potential or as you want to.

Its a no for me, don't think its a good idea

I would want to know when I would die so that I can take care of all the loose ends. I would take care of all my personal matters and inform my loved ones. I would do as much social service as possible.

Knowing and not knowing are both beautiful creatures - similar to the statement “ignorance is bliss.” Knowing when you would die is terrifying, but also could allow anxious individuals who fear certain things such as skydiving, truly sharing one’s emotions, etc. to do it without fear of repercussions. However, that goes against living each day as your last and accomplishing one’s goals daily to avoid the fear of not living out life to the fullest.

Honestly the idea of knowing when you die would kill you .. and I say that because no one wants to die so I feel like if they knew the day and time that you would die we as people would try to do something anything to make sure it doesn't happen but no one knows the time day or place that would happen and that keeps you with faith and hope to pray that you would wake up to another day..

This is something I’ve thought about a lot something that always frightened me. As much I want to know what would happen what if it’s something we don’t want to know something macabre and gruesome. Imagine the chaos people would be in a panicked state almost always. There’s something highly intriguing about the mystery of the afterlife and as humans we can be highly impatient and extremely curious. With this said I dont think it would be the best idea to find out imagine findinf out you die in a car crash would you ever step foot in a car again? You wouldn’t be truly living just scared of not.
