This is not the kind of genre that I give a second thought to. Your review, however, has been fantastically written. The friendship, humor and the little nuggets of wisdom are big takeaways for those who intend to read this one. Those who are horrified or appalled by gory violence should keep off.

Horror and comedy being two great genres by themselves become all the more interesting when amalgamated. The review gives quite a lot of information yet not. I particularly like the quote included.

I'll check this one out. It sounds like a really funny story about demons and possessions. I really hope the characters manage to make it to their SAT exam and be able to pass it. Although I took the ACT, I understand their pain hahaha. Thank you for the review.

Did not have the same impression of enjoying the book when i first read it personnaly. But i like how your resume describes your own experience with it, using sequences such as Enjoyement, Fun and laughing and then including wisdome, gives a strange desire to go and read the book. Very good descriptive resume

Demon Freaks by J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison is akin to a B movie - full of humor and charm that must be swallowed alongside a heaping dose of self-indulgence and campiness.

The scene opens with the perceived villain, a high school teacher, spouting a string of cliche phrases in an over-the-top attempt to scare the protagonists (identical twin brothers) into buckling down for college entry exams. With the help of their friends and bandmates, the past shenanigans of the brothers have landed them in hot water with both the teacher and school administration. Stressed with their situation, the brothers take their frustration out in their humorous music.

Seemingly setting the story in a reality devoid of average names, the author paints his characters in a palate of neons - steering clear of subtlety. Between the teacher's melodramatic speech, bizarre appearance, and over-blown reaction to a classroom disruption; the character begins to seem almost cartoonish. Likewise, the initial introductions of the main characters are overly descriptive in an attempt to prove that the characters are unique which effectively beats the reader over the head with that opinion.

Despite this, the author manages to capture the charm of youth and rebellion drawing on Ferris Bueller vibes with characters that could be plucked from Bill & Ted's universe. Whether the book turns out to be an excellent adventure or instead a bogus journey, it does make you want to keep reading to find out.

This does sound really good. I sometimes enjoy humorous horror, like the Evil Dead films (and the cable series) and the film, The Cabin in the Woods. I would probably like this very much. I like that there is a good back story too. Makes a book much more worth reading. Thanks for your insightful review!

“Demon Freaks”, as the title of the book suggests, you can already guess the usual interplay of supernatural story and violence. To say however that the author of this book has introduced humor into the plot of the story makes me feel like reading it.

The way you described the book has tempted me to read it as soon as possible. As you said its a combination of humour and horror Its just perfect for a reader like me. As it's dedicated to the young adults its perfect for my age as well. Apart from that highschool children and demons just interest me so much. I can't wait to read the book for my own satisfaction as I know what to expect as you have thoroughly described the book.

I like the way the author arranged his flow of ideas. The balance between humour and satire makes the story pile up to climax. The author acts as superhuman who tends to be observing at all points and tends to miss nothing in his narration.
