Facebook sounds like you'll be completely useful for those that suffer from under these conditions, or for those that are supporting those who do. That being said it is a fairly niche market and I don't think this one is for me.

I admire the author's openness, it is not something everyone is capable of. First hand experience is always admirable and since humour is also twisted in this read I believe it will keep the reader attracted to the book. Doesn't seem a book that needs to be read soon but when it is need so thank you for sharing this book!

Health issues are worth talking about at anytime. Being a woman and understanding what the reviewer meant when she said, Aging is part of life as we get older and our body is at risk. As women we need to get more rest. This book seems to be very informative and should be a good read. Thanks for your review.

Nice review. The book seems as it would be helpful for people (woman) with the condition, I'm not sure about other people. You state in your review it can cross health issue lines but you didn't give any examples how. Which would have been nice because, as it stands, I can't see how it could translate to anyone outside that condition. I have a chronic generic condition and wouldn't generally read a book about a different one unless it would directly benefit me, as I have my own medical issues to deal with everyday. None of that detracts, though, from you're review, which was rather informative about the relations of that condition.

I have MS and her bowel and bladder issues sound a lot like what I battle. I'll look forward to reading this book now because it sounds like it could be very informative and helpful to me.

I feel like this is such a good book, specifically because it helps to highlight important aspects of one's health that they need to know as they get older and especially when going to the bathroom is an issue for one reason or another. I'm a little eh about reading it just because the topic isn't one I'd read unless I felt a need to. But maybe when I'm older! Thanks for writing a review!

What a helpful book! This is essential reading for anyone suffering the same condition. The author is honest about the reality of both living with Neurogenic Bladder and the medical processes that must be undertaken to find improvements. I particularly appreciated the brief ‘Tips’ in block form within the prose. These easy-access summaries enable readers to remember key points during their own diagnostic journies, and may help some avoid many of the difficulties endured by the author.
Congratulations to the author for her courage in revealing her story and wanting to assist others. Absolute best wishes.

I’m a little hesitant to read this since it doesn’t directly apply to me, but I’m sure I can apply the same message to other struggles just the same. It’s definitely meant to be inspirational and not just informative. Thanks for the review!

Great review on a common health problem. The personal experiences also add a sense of realism and authenticity to the author's narrative. It brings out the depth of her research on the subject.

When someone talks about their personal experiences on their health conditions and what they did to improve their health, I drop everything to listen to them in hopes I may be able to glean tidbits of knowledge. This is what I will do with this book Beyond Embarrassment" by JoAnne Lake. I will be reading this! :tiphat: :techie-studyingbrown:

Nice review. I like seeing that someone is willing to talk about this that is not a dr. Hopefully this will help others with the same condition to not be embarrassed about it.
