Re: Crime, Thrillers, Horror and Mystery Recommendations
It seems we are classmates in the thriller department. I also follow Jack and Laurie. I like them better than Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta.Sakilunamermaid wrote: ↑19 Jan 2018, 04:52 I also really enjoy Robin Cook, his John Stapleton character who is a coroner is so good. I was so happy to find his books.
Tami Hoag is another thriller writer whose books I enjoy. Her books are really bloody, though.

Z is completed...I just read it!Miriam Molina wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 03:35Oh, dear! I feel like I have lost a close friend. I was even thinking she should continue the series with numbers after Z gets done. I have read Alibi to X and am eager to get my copy of Y. I am shattered! I will miss Kinsey and Sue.Sakilunamermaid wrote: ↑19 Jan 2018, 04:46
I love the alphabet series by Sue Grafton, I was so sad to hear that she passed away and that she only got to Y is for Yesterday.

Did you know Tami started as a romance novelist?AnnaKathleen wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 14:11 I personally really love any crime/mystery/thriller by Tami Hoag. She almost always has detailed environments, realistic character interactions and are often witty and have various personal problems/demons/depth, and the plots aren't too predictable. My favorite would be Cry Wolf. Also, almost every book is a self contained story even if it's technically part of a series.
The last Hoag book I read was Cold, Cold Heart. I think she has released a couple books after. Cry Wolf is a memorable one.

I did actually! I've never read her romance novels though. Have you? I think the last one I read by her was Deeper Than Dead. There's a couple newer ones I have on my shelf that I haven't gotten to yet lol. I agree Cry Wolf is very memorable!Miriam Molina wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 18:24Did you know Tami started as a romance novelist?AnnaKathleen wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 14:11 I personally really love any crime/mystery/thriller by Tami Hoag. Yes, I read a couple of her old romances that I found in second-hand bookstores. Stay with the thrillers, though, unless you enjoy M&B-type love stories.AnnaKathleen wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 21:27
