Sure, a gun is a certain way to get your point across to someone, then the question is, what is they also have a gun?

I wouldn't say having a gun is the answer but there are times when a gun is needed, therefore protecting your family from intruders, who may be carrying a gun, breaking into your home, is the time a gun should be acceptable.

Access to a gun makes you easily forget other options for diffusing a situation. Upholding the 2A should not mean upholding access to military grade assault weapons.

I don't think gun is really the answer. It won't solve the problem of attacks. You must weigh both sides and see that it's diadavantages outweigh the benefit of acquiring one for self-defence.
Think about it.
Books are lovely.

Sometimes you doesn't need gun to protect yourself. At times your behavior protects you and your family. If you cannot kill what comes your way, surrender to Jesus, and trusting in Him could save you and family.

A gun isn't the answer because death/intimidation aren't the answer. Death may seem like a permanent solution, but then there is the case of the family and friends of the murdered person. Intimidation isn't the answer, because the person may have better weapons or know someone who does.

In a way it is for family protection and in a way is not for individuals to hold it for protection.

Well, first I will like to associate the author's view of "gun really the answer" to the act of vengeance.
I don't really think gun is always an answer to any kind of situation, the best answer is understanding, love and forgiveness.

Guns are designed for hunting as we humans get a vital source of energy, protein and flavors from the meat obtained. Some people depend heavily on this source of food. Guns are used for sports. These sports are skills exhibited and competed against at the highest level which is the Olympics. Guns are used for defense and societies choose their form of defense usually in the police and military.

We should allow citizens to obtain simple guns and rifles for self-defense, sports or hunting but the permitting criteria should be extremely vigilant. These guns should not be allowed in public spaces unless it is a designated place like a shooting range or hunting area. Management of the guns is the key, not elimination. We all wish we lived in a violent-free world but sadly we do not and must face this harsh reality.

Educating our people about love and care for creation and encouraging good mental health are critical in reducing violence. May God bless us all.

If there is no other way to look for. Then you don't have no choice but to use the gun. Your family's safety lies in your hand. You have to do what ever it is just to protect your family from any kind of danger.

I will say that I wish guns were never invented in the first place. However, they are out there and it's going to be pretty impossible to get rid of all of them, especially since there is easy access to ways to make one. Criminals will always be able to get hold of a gun and I personally want to be able to get one as well for self defense purposes if the need arises. So, although I wish that there were no guns, yes, I think sometimes guns are the answer to protecting yourself and your family.

Although we have our 2nd Amendment right to own firearms, it is crutial for us to know when and where to use them, as well as educate others especially children the importance of gun safety.

It never was, it never were and it never will be! Violence was never the answer in resolving a dispute. Before bringing peace to a country one must learn to bring it from home then to school then to work or college then to the community then to the country, to region, to continent then to the world. Peace comes together with the love of parents to each other and to their children. The root cause of all this problems are from broken homes and bad principles.

I personally do not think a gun is the answer. I think it invites serious problems. Some people purchase them with the intention of protecting themselves and their families but then one day there will be an argument in the house. The person becomes so enraged that they reach for that gun to threaten the other. Then one thing will lead to another and bang! disaster hits. Children see these gangster movies and video games, then decide to become 'hard' and steal the gun. They take them to school, next thing you hear, there is a school shooting. So, NO guns are not the answer.

Imagine being a thief or a criminal and entering into your preys house or hands fully aware of the propensity that the person is well armed with gun, it will reduce your confidence towards crime. Truth is criminals will always have access to crimes no matter how much we deregulate it, empowering the innocent therefore becomes the better alternative. GUNS ALL THE WAY
