Ha! I never spotted the George Washington eagle! I'll have to go back and find it. I agree - I loved the repetition the author used when referring to different types of words. This book has great educational value for children! The illustrations are also nicely done.

Thank you for the fun review! My first thought as I read your review was "AWESOME!" This book sounds like it will be the perfect book for my 8-year-old. Priscilla the ostrich sounds like such a sweet character, and this book sounds like an ideal educational story. I can't wait to sit down and read it.

This sounds like such a fun and educational book; I wish I could toss a copy to many of my facebook friends, as many errors as I see on their posts! I also like how you said some of the words are handwritten. I always enjoy when books move from the normal font to handwritten or even scribbled. I'm also looking forward to checking out the pictures; the one thing I miss most about children's books is their included illustrations.

When I first started reading the book I was surprised to find out it is a book for children. Anyway I like all kinds of books so I read it all.
I enjoyed it a lot and totally agree with the review about how the book is a great one for children to learn new words and what type of words they are. Also the drawings reinforce the different parts of the book. From a character, Priscilla that collected so many words but was too shy to use them, to the friend that suggested her to start speaking and making friends , up to her decision to start writing books with all the words she had. The reviewer has really found out the relation between the places and words Priscilla collects, as well as the amazing change in her life as she decided to use those words.
I also think it's a 4 on 4 book and your review is excellent.

This seems like an adorable children's book. Words are hard, and language is hard. Some kids have a lot of trouble feeling motivated to learn and this seems like it makes it fun!

Perfect for young readers just learning their nouns, adjectives etc. Loved the pics and can't wait to share with the grandbabies.

I just finished reading this book. It was cute and educational. I thought it was a nice touch to have the main character be an ostrich, who would bury her head in the sand, when she felt shy. I liked the illustrations. The book was also age appropriate.

I like your review and this children's book sounds great for young readers. I think that a word such as leprechaun would be known to children between the ages of six and nine years old because of St. Patrick's Day. I agree that the illustrations are beautiful and am glad that they are so imaginative. I can easily imagine George Washington as a bald eagle.
