Post by Booklover83 »

Ok so this is a random question, do I have to or should read the first set of vampire chronicles novels in order? I ordered all three but only Vampire Lestat came in?

I would recommend reading them in order - Vampire Lestat is definately one of my favs!

You've just given me the urge to re-read that series. I read them a few years ago and loved it! If you like Interview - you'll be crazy over these books!!

hahaha. I used to have the first three in one huge volume but I think I donated it when I moved last for some reason....silly me. Yeah I have been getting back into Anne Rice and I tried years ago to read them and could not get through them. Now that I am older, I think it is time to give them another try. I was hoping all three books would come in at once but not the case, now I have to wait till at least Monday to see if the other two came in. Blood and Gold got me started on her again. :)

I'd say you should definitely read them in order since The Vampire Lestat refers to Interview with a Vampire a few times. You mentioned you've seen the movie, but there's a lot in the book that wasn't in the movie so you may still be a little lost.

I have the whole series and would love to re-read them but... So many on my TBR! lol

Good to know...thank you! :)

Update 9/1

I am going to be really funny and because I have not gotten Interview from my library yet I am going to read Queen of the Damned first because I have that one and have been dying to read it! I will then go back and read the first two a this point I just really want to read Queen because of how much she was part of Blood and Gold.
