From the description and cover I was really hoping this was going to be a proper graphic novel, but unfortunately not. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the extract, although I think I would find the way it doesn't neatly wrap things up frustrating too. I like the mix of the comradary and supernatural elements however!

When I first started reading the sample of the book, I thought it was simply going to be a military style story filled with gun battles, torture and lots of death. I don't really care for those scenarios. Then there was the whole demon twist thrown in. Now the story turns a whole different direction. Interesting...Made me wonder what other twists and turns were waiting in the pages ahead.

According to your review, there is a lot packed into such a short story. Action, suspense, supernatural, teamwork, redemption...All while building well rounded characters. Not an easy task.

As I said before, my initial impression was that I would probably not enjoy this one. But, you have me rethinking my position. One thing in particular that you said to help change my mind was...."It was these little things that allowed me to feel close enough to the crew members to actually care what happened to them both individually and as a team."...I like when characters seem to come alive.

I don't think I'll read this one. I'm not much for horror or thrillers; though, I'll pick them up if they really strike my fancy. The myriad of errors mentioned in the review make me hesitate. Lots of errors really pull me out of a reading experience.

I do so much required reading these days that a short and engaging novel is appealing. From the sample I also read I am not surprised that the review gives a graphic violence warning, yet it sounds like it has enough quirky to balance that out. I may have to give this one a read.

I am not a fan of sci-fi and/or horror and think I will let this one pass. I also do not like endings floating in the air - it leaves me frustrated because I like to know exactly what happened and the final outcome.

When I read the description on Amazon, as well as the sample, I'll admit I was intrigued because sci fi/fantasy books are my favorite. However, your description of "supernatural with a taste of horror" instead of sci fi/fantasy gives me pause. While I am still interested in the book, I am curious to know how much that "taste of horror" is to better understand if I will be able to enjoy the book still.
