I share your trepidation with the genre thriller/ horror but applaud your bravado in facing the challenge. Your review of the plot is quite comprehensive and objective. For those who enjoy this genre, your review certainly entices them to get reading this text.

The crime thriller genre is my favorite so that gives this book a boost in my opinion. I also like the idea of someone trying to cure Alzheimer's, having dealt with this particular disease in my own family. Based on the review it sounds like the characters are well-developed and the book is a good read. I plan to add this one to my to read shelf.

Your review is wonderful! I, too, am nervous when I delve into that genre, for the same reason as you. However, this sounds like a book that I would readily enjoy, especially because it has that mystery aspect that isn't necessarily "whodunnit". I think I'll be checking this book out in the near future.

This sounds like a great read and a good change of pace (many of the mysteries I've been reading are "whodunit".) I've a sample of it to try and then I just might go and get the whole book. Thank you for the review :)

That's awesome that the author is able to build characters that make you relate to the story so strongly, that alone, plus the medical drama / thriller type aspect is definitely enough for me to add this to my "want to read" list. Thank you for your review

This book must be very good if it caused you those emotions. I do not read many books of this genre but it sounds great for those who do. Thanks for the review!

The Prize by Geiffrey M Cooper
Thank you for your great review! This book just came to the top of my need to read list! I love a good Crime/Mystery Book throw in the question of will justice be served with the corruption of money and I am ready to curl up and read it.

I’d surely be interested in knowing if fate and fortune win. The book seems to have lively characters and that is a huge plus for me.

Thanks for the great review!

Deception and fraud for gaining fame, that too for a Nobel Prize, might easily be a true story. I am curious to read this book. Great review!!!

This novel gives us a glimpse of life in the scientific circles, where researchers help and share in the accumulation of knowledge, but beneath the surface lurks the individual ambitions for superiority and top honors. There is politics, greed and a host of other negative human traits. The sample is riveting enough to hold one captive. I will find time to read this. Thanks for the great review.

This book sounds much better then what I expected. I am not a fan of this genre, probably for the reasons you mentioned that you never know what you will get. This one sounds like it is well written and character driven and gives you reasons to become invested in the characters. Great review thanks!

I was invested in this book when I read the sample. I was already interested in the medical science parts to the story, and did not expect it to be a science thriller until a couple of chapters in. Thanks for the review, now I definitely want to keep reading this book after your mentioned that it is a mystery and also has some psychological aspects.

Fame and fortune can really be corrupting for those who are into it. I'm glad Pamela Weller is among a few who are not into it. Is there a cure to Alzheimer's disease nowadays?

Your involvement with, and emotional response to, the characters is a testimony to how well written this book is. I will add to my Want to Read shelf. Thanks for the great review!
