For some reason, this book reminds me of a dystopia kind of story. However, I do think that the plot is very interesting compared to other books. Glad you didn't see any errors in it. Great review!

This isn't my favorite genre, therefore I probably won't read it, however it does sound interesting. The depth of character you described sounds fascinating and indicates a well written book so I'll add it to my bookshelf for a rainy day.

Great review, but I'm just not interested in reading Jesus' plight, especially since my boyfriend had one hell of a time getting his replacement social security card and he HAD a birth certificate (it's dang near impossible to replace the card these days; how is a BIRTH CERTIFICATE not good enough?!) about two years ago; no reminders of that time needed, thanks! It's great that he had friends to help him and I'm sure it was quite heart-warming, but I don't "do" heart-warming, either, so that's enough strikes for me.

This sounds like a nice story. Being homeless is already bad, but being declared dead to rob you of your rightful things is even worth. Thanks for the review and congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Cuban immigrant "Gato" tries to survive being homeless after Social Security mistakenly declares him dead? Goodness! It's nice that Alexia and George decide to help him and form a familial bond. Hopefully, they can solve who "Gato" truly is! It's great that you found this read to be layered and that you were able to feel for the characters. Sometimes, multiple perspectives does add quite a bit to a story, so I'm glad you found that it worked out here. I'm also glad that it was professionally edited and that you found the book enjoyable! I'm normally a huge fan of historical fiction, but this storyline just doesn't sound interesting to me. It's nice that Alexia and George were able/willing to help Gato, no matter what the reasoning behind it. Hopefully Gato can cut through the red tape and have his problem rectified!

Wow, what a puzzle. Trying to prove you are alive without documents would be pretty hard since the whole beurocracy is based on documentary proof of identity. But if you can’t get any money, you can’t get off the street and until you have both ID and steady access to a shower, you can’t hope for more than day labor work at best.

This sounds like a very good story and I’m glad the characters have conflicting motives. If they didn’t, it probably would not be a good representation of the norm as there really only are a few people who have a specific calling to work with the homeless, but many can help a person when the opportunity comes along.

Thanks for sharing the review on Citizen Cardenas. Gato certainly had quite a life to go with his multiple names, and history. Would the Greek couple who helped him uncover the truth? The bad boy type does not appeal to me and I found the stories from different people and the back and forth from present to past did not hold my attention.

Just from a sampling, this was an interesting novel. I found the idea of drawing a parallel between the three main characters as they struggle with their own problems but come together to help the "homeless" main character and his struggle to survive when the government agency thinks he is deceased. Entertaining read. Well done.

really intruding story about a immigrant who lost his identity information and struggling hard to get his benefits from the state which denied the same due to mistake in his present status in social security

An illegal immigrant who has been receiving social security cheque? And now he can't as he has to prove his identity. Seems like he's more of a victim to state sponsored corruption. Enjoyable review.

The storyline sounds really interesting, and I like the fact that it uses first person narrative from different characters. This will help the reader connect deeply with each character.
