Queen of the Damned-Review

Post by Booklover83 »

I really wanted to read this after reading Blood and Gold and being introduced to Akasha in that novel. Admittedly, I went out of order here because I still have not received Interview with the Vampire from my local library and my due date on the first two is coming up in a couple of weeks.

I have to say that I I was mildly disappointed in this book. Akasha's character is believable as a total nut job but at the same time, unbelievable as a legit queen of vampires. Maharet was more believable and useful as a possible queen. The book was a lot more descriptive then the movie (which was horrid in my opinion). I am looking forward to more Anne Rice books in the future though. Pandora and Vittorio the Vampire are on my list as well.

Not a bad novel, but I do not think this was one of Anne's best. I only gave this one 2/5 stars. I am thinking of re-reading again at a later date though.
