I love when fiction books are able to not only entertain, but educate the reader as well. It sounds like this book has multiple things going for it between socializing the reader with the situation haunting Ireland, a CIA / IRA standoff, and one of burgeoning relationships.

When a person is playing the role of an undercover cop, wouldn't he act rather cautious than allow the passions betray his cause?
I would confirm this for sure when one sees someone he wants to love, his brain stops thinking. No wonder they said that love is blind.
Anyway, your review has described something about the Irish History.
It simply talks about a book everyone should read.

Well just from a sample of the story, I found this book is not your average "undercover spy story." It was interesting how the author incorporated Ireland and Irish culture into the story instead of the usual "organizations" or "countries of interest." Well done.

The novel describes the ongoing and historical war in Ireland. Personally, i lile the undercover CIA cop thing and the fact that the story is told in a drama kinda way. It's a really nice novel

My favorite genre and location, but I in no way are big fan of any kind of religious conflicts. Despite it review makes this book really appealing and since I read the first part I feel duty bond to read this one as well.

I agree that Joe did act a little out of character, especially for the occupation he held. But that could possibly be because he was attracted to her, and some men act a bit childish around those they are interested in. Your review was very helpful to read before committing to the book, as it set a bar for what I should expect to find.

Reading the story of Joe's hangover at Ballycastle bar over his breakout with Mary and his love-at-firstsite for Fiona, reminds me of the college life amongs teens. I was also intrigued by the man- Seamus description by the author at his entry into the bar. Joe's passion for the water. In all, i think the book is very diverse and well calculated.

Thanks for your review. The religious and political conflicts in Ireland span several generations and have caused many families a great deal of grief. The concept of “inherited revenge” is commonplace in this culture. This book sounds like an interesting exploration of the Irish way of life.

An informative book about americans with twist of thriller and action in the story. There are also politcal isues which affects the main character he most. I may say its rated 4/4 because its really a great book to read and very detailed.
