Fantastic review. My mother in law works in an assisted living home and the residents there, while trying at times, grow near and dear to not only her heart, but ours as well as we listen to her stories and visit them all on special occasions. And her work with the elderly and handicapped led her daughter to pursue a career in Social Work. The people who willing go through the struggles and celebrations with pthers like this will forever be heroes to me.

What a beautiful review! I have never heard of a book that describes the life of a caretaker which leads ,me to really realize how noble and under appreciated this profession is.

I have always admired people in this field and it's heartbreaking how underpaid they are. My grandma was a nurse and i think I could see some relatable content here. I barely like nonfiction genre but this story is worthy to be an exception. I love how it is a bit humorous and dwells more on the positive side. God knows it is very needed in that field. Thanks for the review!

The way you captivated the essence of this book is truly beautiful. I tried myself to write a review, but it cannot challenge the quality and uniqueness of yours. I lovely how you placed in, very tactful, the way Trust me I’m a Care Worker: Extracts from a Diary of a Care Worker relays to you on a professional and personal level. This adds authenticity to your review. So thank you for such an inspired work of literary art.

I enjoy reading your review "Trust me I am not a care worker" not every care worker or care giver as they are called, is like Christopher Butleel. Chris is an exceptional person who enjoys what he is doing! That job is not easy especially where you make house calls. It can be the most tedious aggravated job, but still a lot of people like doing it. I never liked nursing, being a care worker or even intend to be one. Still I admire that individual who are willing to sacrifice other jobs to become one. I would assume the book is not fiction, since it is narrated by the author who happens to be the main character. That is excellent his book should acclaim great reviews. Excellent review

Cognitive, physical and memory impairments change how a person thinks, feels and behaves. This is very challenging for not only the person experiencing it but for their families as well. Caregivers provide a lot of hope and opportunity to those who need help and assistance. Feeling right about the service you provide to people is essential and vital for making people’s lives a little bit easier despite these challenges. How beautiful that Christopher Bulteel took the time and energy to write about his enjoyable experiences as a careworker. And to share his encounters with people he met and give a glimpse of this world that some may not fully understand. He gives his readers an opportunity to step into his shoes and trust him just like people trust him every day to help them live a little easier.

The real treasures in the society, little pay but so much love. I love how the author was able to capture the hidden heroes in our society and bring their story to the light. Thumbs-up to the reviewer for her gentle work on the book. Nothing shouts out for a book than a good review.

One of the many that sticks out in my head occurred on a rainy July evening. Basically, the story involves a task that requires two care workers, a mechanical hoist, a client who wants to go to bed right away, and a delayed second care worker. Throw in a storm that shorts out the hoist while in use, extra care workers who show up after the fact to help, an ambulance crew, a couple of policemen, a lot of tea, and later, an unavoidable disciplinary hearing, and you get a laugh out loud memory and a few lessons learned.
Oh my, that sounds like a hoot! LOL I do love a person who can keep their sense of humor through trying times! :)

Thanks for your review! Caring for others not related by blood is difficult and hard, and must be done because you want to do it and not because is an obligation. I am going to read the book soon.
