I have 3. One on the top of my right foot (scorpio symbol), left sholder (fairy sitting on a skull), and mid back (two roses).

In the near future I will be getting a Phoenix on my neck, 4 more fairies on my back, a lion cub on my lower back in protective hands, two more zodiac symbols on my right ankles, dragonfly with script and lilly with script on my left ankles, frog on lilly pad on top of left foot, then a film stip on left calf that has my mom's baby pic, my baby pic and my daughters baby pic. Then I have a bouqet of lillies that will start at my right hip and go down to the knee.

I think that will be it. I usually try to get one a month but my husbands gets one too and some of them can get pretty pricey.

I have two. An American flag in a star on my right arm and a Jesus fish with blue flames inside it on my left wrist.

I regret neither but I do think it's interesting that the beliefs that I felt with such vigor have faded and the tattoos remind me of that belief, of that faith and it's that faith that I smile in regret at. I wouldn't mind getting more just to lengthen the experience. It's like looking back on how you acted when you were fourteen, say, and saying to yourself "what was I thinking?" I don't ask myself this about my tattoos but the beliefs behind them. I like that. It keeps me grounded.

That being said, the tattoos I'd like in the future is some Maori art on my left arm because I love New Zealand so much, and I'll probably get one of my daughter's drawings tattood on me too at some point. Just a little reminder to simpler times.

I have thought about getting a Lion tattoo several times since the lion symbol falls into so many areas of my life. I am just not sure about the whole pain issue.

Depending on where the tattoo is, it really doesn't hurt too bad. The one on my arm didn't hurt at all and the one on my writs (the under side of the wrist where the skin is thin and all the veins criss cross) hurt a little, but right at the tip of the fish at the closest point to the hand, that hurt QUITE a bit.

But pain goes away (usually quickly) in most cases and leaves you with something you never could have gotten without being brave (or foolish depending on how you look at it) enough to go through it.

I personally don't find the pain of being tattooed traumatic at all. It's not like other pain, you know? It does hurt, but it is such a high that you don't feel it like "normal" pain.

I have the Chinese character for Serenity on my lower back. It's an ongoing goal of mine...or my husband says its wishful thinking!

Didn't really hurt at all. The odd moment was because of where it is, when he was finishing up the top right corner, he must have connected with the muscle that goes all the way to the shoulder and caused a big twitch! He was obviously used to it and didn't do a big streaky smudge... But no actual pain.

Itched like the devil for a few days after though.

I am still keeping it in mind, but my issue is where the tattoo would be. I am still unsure of that. I guess the least painful area! :D Yeah, pain does fade, but I am one of those "pro/cons list" type people. I have to work out my list. WOW! I sound super boring! :D

As far as I know, the areas of your body where there are a lot of nerve endings / thin skin or areas that are right on the bone (like the ribs) hurt the most. That's what I've heard. But I wouldn't be scared about it. I remember sitting in the chair for the first one biting my lip thinking it's going to be the worst pain imaginable and when I felt the pain it was quite the relief. It really wasn't bad.

Recently I got a smallpox shot and that was much worse.

I know what you mean, when I got mine it hurt a little bit, but it really only felt like someone scraping with a fingernail for a long time... more annoying than painful

Well, I can handle that! I will have to have my husband draw me one up. He drew a really cool guitar with the artwork from the tool album on it for my sister-in-law. It was an awesome tattoo! She put it on her right forearm.

I have a tattoo of daisy on my left ankle which I just absolutely love. It only took 10 minutes to do but have to say it did really hurt. But that just might be because I am a complete wuss though!

I want another one but the only thing that has stopped me so far is I just cannot think of what to have. I want it in a place where I can see it so thinking on my foot or even my wrist but I just cannot think of what to have. :?

I just watched that LA Ink show, this guy came in and had all his kid's drawings tattooed on his arm. That was really cool! I like that idea.

I've got a couple - Gilliam's twelve monkeys wrapped around my left bicep and a wolf's head on my right. I am planning on getting a third, but not sure what yet.
