Haven't seen your name around for awhile, Tralala, good to see you!

I can't get the song "Down To The Cemetery" out of my head. With due regard to Kid Sam, these lyrics always get me:

.....In the dead out of the city there's a place I know that
Everyone ignores and people never go
All streets lead there so we'll find our way
And when we get there you do not have to be afraid

They're diggin' our graves but while they work
Let's laugh at them cause all of it is so absurd
Let's go dancin' there above the dead
Oh let's celebrate that we're not yet

(Chorus) Let's go down to the cemetery
Let's go down to the cemetery.....
"Every story has three sides to it - yours, mine and the facts" Foster Meharny Russell

(Verse 1)
On the darkest night of Halloween
in a moonlit gruesome ghastly scene
I'll be there as a wolverine
with fangs to suck your blood

I love your tasty crimson juice
your neck ensnared in my leather noose
I'll bite your flesh with profuse abuse
and imbibe the bloody flood

(chorus)
I'll be your evil demon
I'll be the dark side of your soul
For one enchanting evening
You'll be the feast that I extol

(Verse 2)
I'll eat the flesh from all you bones
and wallow in your morbid moans
savoring your lips for last
I'll peer into your eyes aghast

Your fluttering heart pumping blood
as I become your ghoulish stud
Happy Halloween my dear
It only happens once a year

(chorus)
I'll be your evil demon
I'll be the dark side of your soul
For one enchanting evening
You'll be the feast that I extol

I just wrote this up just now just for fun. If you can find anything in it worthy of ideas feel free to use it.

EXCELLENT!
Hiya, Maud! Summer just carried me away, I guess. I'm definitely gonna check that song out, thanks!
SKM, I've got the Bobby Pickett and Misfits versions...can't decide which I like better.
And just a warning Abra...that may end up being played at a crappy local open mike! I'll let you know if we use it if you promise not to sue.
Thanks, all!

Please feel free to use it and change it up however you like. If I ever did anything with it, it would be for the same purpose, just a local open mic or backyard jam session.

Typically I put stuff like this to music myself. I haven't really even tried putting this to music yet, but I'm sure I could do some kind of damage to it musically (ha ha).

I might mess around with it a bit tonight and see what I come up with.

Cool, daddy-o.
It'll scare the pants off the folks in my whitebread sub-suburban Pleasant Valley Un-day town. If the audience isn't sloppy drunk, that is.

Well, I've made a recording as an mp3 but I don't currently have anyway of uploading the file. I just bought a new computer and my old FTP program doesn't work on this computer so I'll have to figure out another way to upload the file.

As soon as I get it uploaded I'll post the URL for the mp3 file.

Ok I have the mp3 file uploaded on my site. But I can't seem to post the URL here. It keeps telling me that new members cannot post URLs. So I don't have any way of linking to it.

You could pm it to me and I can post it, if you'd like. I won't steal it or nothin'.
Or just keep posting...you can put urls in after 50 (? I think) posts.
And Maud, thanks for the suggestion! I really like that song!!

Ok, I emailed Scott and he said that I seem to meet the requirements for posting URLs so I'm going to try it again.

Here we go:

http://users.csonline.net/designer/ideas/halloween.mp3

Ok, it seems to be working now.

Let me know if the link works and what you think of the song. It's pretty rough. I'm not a singer so the performance isn't so hot. (ha ha)

Some of the lyrics could definitely be changed to clean it up a bit. This was a pretty quick write. It's kind of still in the "brainstorming" stage.

Anyway, let me know what you think. I tried to make it kind of sound vampirish (ha ha)

I just made up the music in A minor. If you'd like to know the exact chords I used just ask.

You're more than welcome to perform this song at an open mic cafe or bar if you like. Just make sure everyone is either well drunk or zapped out on caffeine. (ha ha)

This Is Halloween

Boys and girls of every age
Wouldn't you like to see something strange?
Come with us and you will see
This, our town of Halloween

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night
This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright
It's our town, everybody scream
In this town of Halloween

I am the one hiding under your bed
Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red
I am the one hiding under yours stairs
Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween
In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song

In this town, don't we love it now?
Everybody's waiting for the next surprise
Round that corner, man hiding in the trash can
Something's waiting now to pounce and how you'll scream

This is Halloween, red 'n' black, slimy green
Aren't you scared? Well, that's just fine
Say it once, say it twice
Take a chance and roll the dice
Ride with the moon in the dead of night

Everybody scream, everybody scream
In our town of Halloween

I am the clown with the tear away face
Here in a flash and gone without a trace
I am the who when you call, who's there?
I am the wind blowing through your hair
I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween
Halloween, Halloween

Tender lumplings everywhere
Life's no fun without a good scare
That's our job, but we're not mean
In our town of Halloween

In this town, don't we love it now?
Everybody's waiting for the next surprise

Skeleton Jack might catch you in the back
And scream like a banshee
Make you jump out of your skin
This is Halloween, everybody scream
Won't you please make way for a very special guy?
Our man jack is king of the Pumpkin patch
Everyone hail to the Pumpkin King, now

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween
In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song

La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, whoo

I'd forgotten about starting this thread. Good thing I like H-ween music all year 'round...those are good suggestions! Gonna skip the Ray Parker Jr., though. I lived through the 80s once, and that was scary enough!
The Raven...is that the Alan Parsons Project?
I'm probably asking someone who hasn't logged in for months...
