This is an good review, very detailed. I can tell from reading the review that the reader did enjoy reading it. it had a light enthusiastic tone to how it was written. I do not know why, but while I was reading this review, the book "Oliver Twist" came to mind. I read that book in school so long ago, do not remember what happened. I also thought of the movie "Stand by Me", with a group of young friends seeing a lot together. I think I will like Terry's character, because I can relate to trying to help my friends any way I can , even if the way is small. Hearing that Bobby's dad was ill , is another natural thing that many of the readers at any age will be able to relate too. it is a short read, so hearing it made the reader laugh, I am interested in trying it out myself.

I am actually a huge fan of dry wit and satire and this definitely sounds like a fun and entertaining read. I'm curious about Bobby and Terry's adventures and how they'll go about solving their mysteries. Great and thorough review!

Cute book, though because it's not really character-driven I had a hard time at first figuring out how old the boys were. I loved the description of Madge, and thought the schemes cooked up by the two boys were pretty hilarious. The language seemed a bit off for middle-schoolers (if that's indeed what they were), but was funny nonetheless.

The review makes this book sound really appealing. Amusing and clever, but at the same time bringing up serious topics, which are everyone's concern nowadays.

Thanks for the insightful review! From the cover, it looked to be another Harry Potter clone, but your review has shown me that the old adage is still true. Never judge a book by the artwork on the cover. I can appreciate wit and smart comedy, enjoying that genre far more than the wizardy scifi world. I love that you are able to articulate so well the artful dodges of the book, so much so, that I'm reminded of Oliver Twist and his journey through London's much older seedy underbelly. I'm very interested in seeing how Bobby and Terry's schemes match up and seeing how well the dialogue plays on the reader's intellect. Looking forward to this one. Already downloaded!

Based on your review, this book seems like the perfect example of why a book shouldn't be judged by its cover, as I would have passed this one by. Thanks for challenging me to reconsider--great review!

This provided a delightful excursion into the world of the child's mind. Bobby and Terry were creative, ingenious, and nuts. The composition of the text was as if the boys had written it, and yet the flow of the story was solid and entertaining. Madge was perfect in her role as a young girl / tomboy. I don't usually enjoy this genre of book, but I am making it a point to read this one.

This could be a fun read, to find out what kids solutions to women's troubles would be. From just scanning through the description, the only words that seemed to jump out were global warming and politics. I thought nope, this book isn't for me. However, after reading your review, I'm going to give it a try. Great review! Glad you enjoyed the book.

Thank you for the interesting review. At first glance, I honestly thought this was going to be a horror story. While this isn't the case I'm not entirely disappointed. At first glance, I wouldn't peg this book as being a humorous story, but based on your review it sounds fun. I'm a bit hesitant knowing the story is more plot-driven, but I'm hoping that the characters still shine. I'm excited to read about the variety of characters who help Bobby and Terry out on the island - the disgraced ex-world-sheep-throwing champion Mr. McStrumpy; Mr. McTater, the island’s only butcher who is obsessed with perfecting the ultimate seagull sausage. A couple of them sound really fun.

I thought this would be a horror story as well, and I am amused that it is more humor and youngsters trying to solve adult problems. It seems like a fun read. Thanks for the review.
