I am not exactly a fan of historical fiction; however, I am tempted to read this one, the only deterrent being the grammatical errors in the book. Let's see when I get to this one. I'll surely be leaving a review when I do.

Great review!

Although the storyline sounds quite captivating, I have shied away from war novels lately. The futility and despair of war is very depressing, and whilst the story of survival can be uplifting, I just find the whole war theme to be too upsetting.

At first glance, the cover is meh. The review proves the story otherwise and sounds great. As much as I love historical fiction, though, I'm not quite ready for the waterworks that will surely accompany reading this book. But kudos to the author for the ability to press our emotional buttons. Thanks for the review.

[bn=][/bn]I love reading (non fiction) history especially about the world. Though this is my first time reading historical fiction and during the world war I thought it will bore me but as I read on it easily captivated me with the flow of the story. It's like I'm back to my childhood days watching those animated films that depicts simple life story though this one seems to be full of action and I'm up to reading it 'til the end.

The review awakens in me the scenes of many ethnic battles fought with crude equipment in Nigeria, where children victims becomes warriors overnight. Many innocence are lost and virtues destroyed. I am eager to read a copy soon.

This is quite a story, the young boy turning overnight into a man struggling to survive amidst the atrocities of World War I, and the personal struggles he has to face within. I suspect this would be an enthralling story of adventure and romance. Thanks for your interesting review.

Great book. I love historic fictions myself expecially those based in real time events. For this case the world war 1. Kamel himself recite the problem he encountered since his childhood to adulthood which make the story captive. I also love the beauty and horror intertwined throughout the book. Congrat to the author and the reviewer.

This book truly seems like a good, albeit heart-wrenching, read. I am a big fan of historical fictions and this book certainly seems like the kind of its genre that I would greatly enjoy. I also enjoy learning and reading about WWII. This book seems to have a lot of components that I enjoy. Good job on your review! I already felt bad for Kamel and I haven't even read the book yet. Your review is one of the best I've read yet.

Good review. Not a fan of historical fiction. This one sounds interesting though. I will have to sit down and give it a go. Not sure how he handled what happened at such a young age because I'm not sure I could do that at my age.

Thank you for the captivating review. I like your writing style and the insight into the character. I didn't think I would be interested in historical fiction, but your review makes me want to try and read this one. Hopefully it is as good as it sounds.
