I am a history student, good at it and I love reading books on historical events, especially french history, the review is great and I can't wait to read it. Historical fiction is just so amusing. So many things I would like to know more about the American Revolution and the tie-in to the French Revolution. I will be adding the book to my reading shelf also.

The review caught my attention especially on the part about "The millionaire is looking for two heirlooms: a necklace, the Cross of Nantes, and the lyrics to a song "the devil sang as he danced across the blood-drenched hills of the Vendée Militaire." It has actually a very interesting story and I would like to read this book as well. The reviewer of this book gave a much interesting description about the book that will catch the attention of those who are reading the review. Based on the review this book has a historical reality embedded in its pages. I will give the review a thumbs up for this review for enticing me to read the book.

I love it when authors achieve a perfect balance when depicting different cultures, especially between the past and the present. I'll love to see how the author deals with the time jumping in this book.

A great story line of probably what happens at times when you stand to make a difference. I'd love to read this great write up that also went way back in time to bring up some histories.

I have a prayer that the summary of the book will give hope to the youth. But I am afraid about the threat that the student has to deal with.

I love historical fiction but I haven't read enough that features France. I'm so glad it was enthralling to read and hopefully I'd enjoy it too!

Your high praise for today's BOTD interested me so much that I have added it to my WTR list, even though I normally do not read historical fiction. Thank you so much! As for the cliff-hanger, I'm not a huge fan. However, authors who know how and when to strategically place a cliff-hanger, all while keeping the suspense and engagement high within the reader is near genius in my book. If you are left begging to read the next in series, I think it really says something about the author's writing abilities. :-) Thank you again...this sounds amazing!

It sounds like this one really hooked you. Books about secret societies with a historical bent are always intriguing. The author seems to have done his research and created a fantastic storyline.

Historical fiction is definitely in my top three favorite categories. I want to give this story a read mostly because from your review, it's not a romance. Ironically, romance novels turn me off. Blackmail, flashbacks and a search, however... yes, please!!!!!

I love historical fiction. I haven't read Les Miserables, but this novel does sound intriguing. I typically don't enjoy cliffhangers unless it leads to a sequel. In this case it does, and it sounds like you're eager to read the rest of the series so it must be a good book. I appreciate that you said it is well-researched because that is important to me too.

Great review! I already wanted to read this book but after reading your review I'm even more interested! I generally don't like much historical fiction but with all of the mystery and intrigue in this one, it really caught my interest.
