Awesome review! I've never read a screenplay before, and I'm not entirely sure I'd want to. But you did a great job explaining and describing it. If I were to read it, I like that there was some humor mixed in with the other, more serious themes.

Thank you very much :tiphat: It was a very well-balanced story.

It really does sound like it would make a great film! It's a pity about the grammatical errors and the snake issue.

At least by coming here, he’s given himself the opportunity to fix the problems. Thanks for posting.

Laurence is a doctor and the mayor of Deuteronomy; he has the Sheriff in his pocket, and he is convinced that his 9-year-old daughter, Cassie, needs to go to a brutal ’homosexual cure clinic’ because she enjoys gymnastics and wears jeans. Obie is outraged and sets out to save his much-loved granddaughter.
I was hoping this part was a joke. You make this work sound hilarious. I have to read the part about the snake to judge for myself, because that sounds creepy, too.

No, it’s not a joke. Laurence is a seriously misguided individual. Thanks for posting :tiphat:

This sounds like an exciting read, if not for the various continuity issues! The premise is certainly interesting, and I'm definitely intrigued. Thanks for the lovely review!

I read plays but I've never read a screenplay before. I wonder how they are different? Laurence sounds like a real piece of work, does the writer indicate wether it was nature or nuture that made him that way?

The loathing he has for his father is explained. Otherwise, I think it was nature as his parents are both principled people. Thanks for posting.

I've never read a screenplay before, the format seems a bit off-putting to me after reading plays in high school. I enjoyed your review though. It's those little details like keeping the snake in the bag that can be frustratingly amusing at times.

Of all the things to plant - a venomous snake?! And forgetting to remove the carry bag?!! Quite intriguing! You have sold this play to me, I can't wait to catch it on screen because then I won't notice the typos and other errors. You are so keen on detail. Awesome review!
