I am glad you enjoyed the book so much, but I think you should pay attention to the fact that this is not exactly a memoir, but a fictionalized account of Barbra Streisand's life. The author might have used bits and pieces of information about Barbra's life. However, the character in the book is only the product of Alma H. Bond's imagination.

Memoirs are always a good read, I hope to read this book soon. I also loved your review. This book obviously made you think of things in life because of the way you described the book. I enjoyed reading your review.

This fictional account of a set of interviews between Barbara Streisand and her psychoanalyst are interesting. At first I could not imagine Barbara with the voice the author had given her. As I went further I put that behind and just got into the story. It is interesting, sad and inspirational at the same time. Despite her childhood and lack of motherly love, she has become an accomplished singer, director and movie star.

I will humbly begin by rating this book 4 out of 4 stars, the reason being there is no book I have read before that has captivated me and torn and mend my heart in the same beat. This book is the simplest, most engaging and easiest to understand guide to overcoming life obstacles and rising to the top regardless of where you are or have been. Alma H. bond has carefully, thoughtfully and beautifully written this memoir. I think and believe it should be a compulsory reading for the whole human race for it possesses rare gems of wisdom found nowhere else.

Frankly, I am very confused by this genre and by this review. If this is a fictionalized account of a "fake" encounter with a therapist, how do you know what is actually attributable to Barbara Streisand and what is purely made up?

Did this woman research Streisand's life? From the sample I read, it seems like pure fantasy.

I'd rather get my inspiration from real situations. Or at least have an understanding of what is based in fact, and what is based in fantasy.

Thanks for the enthusiastic review.

It definitely sounds like this has both entertainment and motivational power within this fictional interview with Streisand. Life lessons and being relatable, as the reviewer has mentioned here, makes this even more accessible to a wider audience.

I'm always interested in reading books that can teach me new life lessons and I can tell this will be a good read for me. Looking at Barbara one wouldn't even know she had a tough childhood. The review is amazing, didn't even know it was that long till I scrolled back after reading.

I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I read this book but in the end aI enjoyed it and did a review on it as well. The author does a good job of capturing the actress's sense of humour. It's evident in your review that you really enjoyed the book.
