I must say, the concept of this book makes me hesitate, but your review has somewhat changed my mind. You make the book sound like it has some quality life advice. I am still unsure if this book is right for me, but you have made me at least consider reading it.

While this book is fictional, I really enjoyed the sample. Most of what I know about Barbra Streisand comes from South Park, so I enjoyed how she was characterized here.

This is one long review! :) I enjoyed it anyway - especially her inspiring, near carefree way of life after the turbulence she experienced at the beginning!
I share the curiosity with several people on how the book is said to be a memoir apparently, but is grouped under "nonfiction".

I can appreciate someone who has overcome obstacles in life to rise to success, but I am really not interested in reading about Barbara Streisand's life. I also think it is strange that the book is supposed to be about her life, but is fiction. The reviewer obviously loved the book and rated it high, so it sounds like it would appeal to some readers.

That is quite a review. You obviously enjoyed this fiction. This book is also a great reminder that superstars are also human and they have feelings. They also get hurt and they are not numb to the negative reactions they get. They also suffer the same problems any ordinary people also suffer. They are no different, and sometimes, they deal worse than we could ever know added to the fact that they are in the spotlights.

Thank you for your review. I am not one for autobiographic novels but this one has peaked my interest, Barbra Streisand sounds like a beyond amazing person. I will be adding this to my summer reading list :techie-studyingbrown:

This is a great book that details overcoming life obstacles and rising to the top regardless of the situation. I love her music and never really knew of her life story.

I really enjoyed this. It provides a look into Ms. Streisand's private life. I really want to read more of this. Its very fascinating on how she became the woman she is today. It was written very well. I can actually picture Barbra telling the story. It's sad that she never got to really know her father and that her mother was so distant. She should be very proud of herself of what she has accomplished in life. Her father would be very proud.

I found the reading to be very interesting and it left me wanting to read more. It made me curious to know what happened next after the Doctor discovered who the mysterious person was knocking at the door. :)

Being a Streisand fan, I am intrigued by a fictional account of her life story. It should be fascinating reading about obstacles (even if they are fictional in the book). Thank you for your review!

This book is one among the best inspirational books I've come across. I've read many life encouraging books but Barbra's ideas are outstanding!

This book sounds like an amazing portrayal of real life, complete with a beautiful overview and description of one woman's ups and downs. I have always had a great respect for Barbra Streisand and am certain I would enjoy this read.
