This was an insightful review. This book taught me things about Barbara Streisand that I never knew before and the part about her father was moving.

I'm glad to see that this book had such a positive impact on you. It's always nice to read about people who have had to go through some very tough times to get to where they are now. It's especially nice to read about celebrities who have made it through such obstacles. This makes the book all the more personable to some.

Interesting! I know Barbra Streisand because of her songs. I grew up hearing my mother singing her songs. It is intriguing, inspiring and motivating how she survived and make it to the top. Thank you for your wonderful review and congratulations!

I'm not a big fan of memoirs, but I do like Barbara Streisand, but I'm kinda on the fence about reading this story that's a "fictional biography"... I kinda get the feeling that the author is using a "Big" name celebrity to make us read it, though from the glowing review, it does seems like a well-written book with a lot of tidbits of life inspiration in it. See? I can't decide if I'm going to read it or not! LOL

Thank you for this comprehensive review. I, too, found the sample very easy to read, and very enlightening. This book is a testament that, indeed, good can come out of evil - Barbra became a star despite her mother's harsh treatment of her. We can do it too!

This reviewer admits that they gave a perfect score to an imperfect book. A book that has typos should not be given a perfect score beyit is not perfect. Also I found all of the reviewers life interjections to be a bit inappropriate. Even though this review speaks highly of this book, I found this review to be lacking.

The review was astonishing simulation of her fictional self, unveiled social dynamics memoirs revealing phsycoanlysis journals. Indeed the struggle is for real.

When the review mentioned it was a memoir, I didn't expect to discover that the book was actually fictional. Still, it sounds stock-filled with advice and lessons from a the life of a notable public figure. Though I found the review a somewhat disjointed and cumbersome, I also share the author's ideology about being color blind to race. Would love to harness other gems within the book.

Another high class professional actress that has been around for years is the one and only Barbara Streisand. Some of her acting roles comes from 'Funny Girl and Hello!', "Dolly', 'The Way We Were!' and the recent "The Fockers Franchise.' She is popularly known in theater, screen and album worldwide. Everyone knows Barbara as a celebrity but off camera how well do we know about her background, character and some of the storm that she has been through?

Moreover, in the series "On The Couch" by Darcy Dale, a popular Psychiatrist from NYC who handled role models like Jacqueline Onassis-Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe and Hilary Clinton. But now included in this group is Barbara a little surprised after 30 years of limited successful therapy. Throughout the process, Dr. Dale did a personal psychoanalysis of Americas highly rated celebrity.

The book sounds interesting but, as it is labeled as a "fictional interview", I have to wonder how much of it is true. Still, it could be worth the read if it does give some insight into the emotionally-trying side of celebrity and the scars that the most unexpected people hide. Thank you for the thorough review.
