I've read this book and it cracked me up real good! The inner child in me and my nephew love "Serendipity Mystery", the cat detective is exactly how I imagine a cat detective should be :D

This seems really cute, and if my friends with children ask me to recommend a book, this will be on the top of the list. Reminds me a little of Wishbone, except with mystery and cats.

Thank you for the excellent review. I like literature that both educates and entertains children. This children's book looks really interesting.

When I read this book I too appreciated the constant references to historical facts. It's a great book that not only has a story line that would prove fascinating for younger readers but also presents a wealth of knowledge that could pique curiosity and prompt further research. It's a great book read at school and to do a book report about.

It's not the first book in this series that is suggested to us and as the previous it sounds pretty interesting to children and teaches them a lot of moral lessons. It satisfies the children's thurst for adventures and mysteries as they are trying to find the stolen objects together with Inca. It also introduces several cultural places and various animals. Children will definitely get excited reading this book. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I was very happy to see a book written, using my motherland as the setting. Since it was mentioned in the review, here are the UNESCO heritages in my country

1 Kandy.
2 Sigiriya.
3 Anuradhapura.
4 Galle.
5 Polonnaruwa.
6 Cave Temple Dambulla.
7 Sinharaja Forest.
8 Central Highlands.

Since this is a short book, I would like to have a quick read. Congratulations on being BOTD and thanks for the free giveaway

A lovely children's novel, with characters being primarily cats a dogs. Besides being a mystery where Inca the detective cat tries to unearth who stole a sword and whether it can be recovered, it's also a delightful story of sightseeing, vacation activities and fun facts of lands like Sri Lanka. Totally sounds like a treat for 6 to 10 year olds.

Great review. I agree that it would have been nice to include more details about Sri Lanka but this might have made it less interesting for the younger readers. Snoopy cats as detectives is a fun way to write a mystery. I enjoyed this book and would agree with it being for the 6-10 age range.

I also like how the book is written as a day-to-day diary entry. Written this way seemed to me to make the book a little bit more interesting. I also like the fact that does give some unknown culture lessons about the country or Sir Lanka even in fiction books it is still nice to learn things that pertain to real life.

Thanks for the review! I read and reviewed this book a little while ago and I share a lot of your opinions on this book. I did wish that the investigation took up more of the plot than the sightseeing, but the sightseeing parts were pretty fun to read about. I definitely agree with your point about teaching kids more about Sri Lanka and thought it was a great way to teach kids about other foreign countries that they may know little about.

I kind of figured that this book would be for children- I could tell by the cover. But it is cool that it is a detective story. Great for kids.

Nice review!

I read and reviewed this book as well, and really enjoyed it too. Text features like a glossary for unfamiliar terms and maps would make this book much more interactive for readers. The reviewer definitely describes this book very well.
