its a very inspiring book on how peer pressure affect and some social acts that are not just paid much attention in our society anymore (rape, peer group, sexual harrasement and racism). Briam and deanie are both victims of peer pressure. the book is 116 pages and i find it inspiring and interesting and mostly a moral lesson . #playinghurt 4stars [*]

Playing Hurt by Gerald L. Nardella is a relatable and starkly realistic narrative about high school drama and the myriad of social pressures in 1960. The overarching issues of sexuality, misogyny, toxic masculinity, and violence are not suitable for very young audiences.

I'm still torn between reading this book and setting it aside. I'll decide after reading the first ten pages. Thanks for the review.

Well, the novel would be worth reading to kids who are making a transition from childhood to adolescence. This is because, I have an image that the work is very informative.

From this review I could understand that the book playing hurt is a love book full of romance and peer pressure.Deanie will have to deal with the pressure from her ex-boyfriend Bill and as well deal with that of Brain and not only that, she's not forgotten the parents orientation towards sex and all that.She really have to make her decisions to choose the right path for her life and future otherwise she'll fall a victim of circumstance. The author equally made the book quite interesting by trying to be down-to-earth with the clear explanations of the characters in play. Nice book to read.

Based on the review,this book sounds very interesting. It seems like there has been more focus on teenage peer pressure in recent years, and it is a very real issue. It sounds like the characters are real and relate-able. I will add this to my to read list.

The book sounds interesting discussing very important issues like sexuality, misogyny, and toxic masculinity. There is really a lot of pressures in both boys' and girls' lives regarding sex and relationships and they both have to make the right choices that will greatly influence their lives. Great review. I am glad that the book narrates the effects and perspectives of sexuality in both boys and girls. the fact that the book set n 1960s timeline makes is attractive, a lot of people now will want to know what was happening back then. Also, I am glad that it tries to change our perspectives that men view women as properties an issue which increases jealousy among other undesired feelings.
