Superhighway by Alex Fayman is the first book in the Superhighway trilogy. The mode of storytelling is a first-person narrative in which the narrator relays events from his point of view. The book depicts imaginative concepts that focus on advanced science and technology. The story would make the reader thinks about possible future of science and its impacts to the society. The characters, especially the main character made a crucial part of making the story compelling. The different settings help set the mood and influence the way characters to behave. The book was designed to take any dream that a reader wants to achieve.

The story follows Alex, who is an eighteen-year-old man with special capabilities and lives in an orphanage. Some things didn’t work out when some couple wants to adopt him and this experience from the different families has made his longing for family and love. Regardless of what happened, he was able to cope up with it and get used to life in the orphanage. Alex grows up with a pure heart and his optimism towards life made him fearless. He is so fascinated and curious about everything and he loves to spend a lot of time reading books.

When the orphanage receives computers, he was the one so excited about it and made him interested to explore more about the wonders of the internet. One night while venturing the internet, some unusual thing happen and he finds himself in a different place with a fast-moving projectile of light traversing the dark tunnels of the internet. This event changes his life and views about life. He becomes more adventurous, appreciative, and dauntless. There is much more of the story that will make you love science fiction and fantasy.

The story will expose you to the beauty of nature and wonders of the different places on Earth. The author made a plot to deepen the reader’s experience and made them feel that they are part of the story. Though it has some explicit content that you should be aware of, the holistic flow of the story is overwhelming. The turn of events was unexpected and exciting. What are those changes in Alex’s life? How did he obtain his special power? What are the challenges that he will face and how he will be able to overcome it?

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I really appreciate how the character brings life to the plot and how his decisions play a significant role in the story. I love how the creativity of the author entails it in his words and how it creates a sense of wonder to the reader. Superhighway involves many genres such as romance, thriller, suspense, and mystery. It also presents different values and attitudes that every people in the world should have. I recommend this book to those who love science fiction, fantasy and mystery. This would be a page-turner for you and will make you embrace the possibilities of life.
