The way this book is written is unorthodox, and I'd like to read the book just for that.

It's nice to hear about a writer who accurately portrays what it's like to live with family members who are mentally ill. Since I can relate to this, I might give this book a try. Thanks for the review!

The description of this book alone makes it sound a lot like home. I myself live in a small Midwestern town and can completely relate to the topics displayed in the review. While I'm certain that this will be a great read, I doubt it's the book for me. This sounds a bit too much like real life for me to find enjoyable. Thank you for your great review.

This is a fictionalized autobiography where the author relates his life to that of a small town, Sheldon. He also dedicates this book to those who have been impacted by drugs, mental illness and many more. I hope such group of people will fully benefit from this book.

This book sounds enjoyable and relatable, since I've had mental illness and addiction in my own family growing up. Thank you for the helpful review!

Sounds like DeVries really tackled some difficult topics. Too bad about the large amount of errors; that really detracts from the enjoyment and also the level of professionalism. Thanks for your review.

A nice review. Its detailed nature provides a good insight of what the book is about.Topical issues captured which include mental recovery for alcohol victims creates my desire to get down with the book.Thank you for the review.

I'm not sure that I would read this book, but it does seem interesting. Addiction can come in so many different forms, and everybody deals with it differently. Friends are important for support. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review - it really did this book justice. After reading the sample and seeing the grammatical errors and confusing sentences, I didn't have much of a desire to read the rest. Now I think it's worth staying around for, especially since it's a moving story that's highly accurate in its depiction of mental illness. Thanks! :D

All I could understand was about how drug and alcohol can be characterized with phenomenal accuracy

Being from a small town, I think that it would be interesting to read about Sheldon to see how similar it is to my home.

Thank you for the review, very nice job explaining the book's pros and cons. This sounds like a character-driven story that many can appreciate. I will definitely be checking it out :)

Two Sheldon Iowa Summers by Donald De Vries is a fictional coming of age and redemption of the people who have been impacted by mental illness, alcohol, and drugs in a small town.

I'm so sorry to hear about the spelling, grammatical, and layout errors. I hope the author will have this book edited and polished. I am not into books about addiction, mental illness, and alcohol. Thanks for the great review, though.

The element of realism sounds so attractive, I may manage to not be too distracted by the editing flaws. Thank you for the review.

Life in a small town is not always as simple as it seems, and it sounds like the author paints a descriptive and compelling picture of the issues faced by young adults in this environment. Despite the grammatical errors I’m still interested in reading this book as the sample was well written and very engaging.
