This sounds like a good book to bring awareness to the subject of special needs kids. Your description of Dewey at the beginning was so sad! It’s not that I don’t want to know more about the topic, but kids suffering makes me feel so bad that I have a hard time dealing with books like this. Your review makes me actually so grateful that I have not had to deal with this in my life. My heart hurts for those who do. Thank you for this insightful review. I might take a peek later as my reading obligations are a stack!

I understand long reading lists. The suffering of children can be heartbreaking. Luckily Dewey has some good instincts. Thanks for your comments.

I'm always curious about autism. I find it tremendously over-diagnosed, but certainly understand there are true cases that should not be taken lightly. My heart goes out to Dewey as he struggles to find his place, and I'm so glad you enjoyed reading it. Thank you for a lovely review

I think there are quite a few things that are over-diagnosed. Dewey definitely is struggling, but it might or might not be from autism.

What an interesting review for what seems like an interesting book! I like your explanation of the two different parts of the book and how the first half gives a realistic look at the special education system and foster families.

I've not really totally like reaking but this story tells me more that not all person are happy. But it depends on how you treated your self to be happy. Remember that their is a god who loves us and accept our attitudes.

It was that. A bit different than what I was expecting, but still good nonetheless.
