Great review, it sounds like a really enjoyable book, but you know what they say, ‘youth is wasted on the young’. Hopefully as he gets older he’ll get a better balance.

It was interesting to read your review after having finished reading the book.
I didn't realize until you mentioned it - not to advise recommending the book to a younger readership.
At my age, while reading, I didn't take a second glance at the drinking or women...although the number of women he hit on was annoying at times, but it was insightful to read your review =)

Traveling by using the internet is a different and interesting concept. I like the idea of being able to travel through the computer, the possibilities are endless! I also like that it is action packed, that is a big thing for me. I do not like to read books that move slowly or have little action as I get bored and suddenly become uninterested in reading the book and then reading it is no longer fun.

Good review! I like that books can appeal to a wide range of individuals. Everyone has a different opinion about the things they read, and take away certain things that may not have even crossed someone else's mind. I personally didn't enjoy reading this, but I'm glad you did. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I just finished reading and reviewing this one, and I felt pretty much exactly the opposite about it. Alex is too much of an arrogant self-absorbed jerk to really sympathize with, and it's hard to get into a novel with such an unlikable hero. Plus, he's on his way to becoming a sexual predator (which is in fact how he describes himself with his first sexual encounter with Eva). As for the charities, he only sets those up when he feels a tiny twinge of guilt over getting a girl killed. And can you imagine what will happen when someone figures out that the charities have received money stolen from terrorist organizations or organized crime? Scandal!

I also believe in the advantages and benefits that technology brings to our lives and what we bring to others through it. What I'd always emphasise, though, is that we need to anticipate and plan ahead to mitigate if not totally eliminate the possible drawbacks, risks or other disadvantages that our modern inventions and discoveries could bring about. With privilege comes responsibility and, thus, I agree with your viewpoint that the protagonist has to consider his choices better. Thank you for your descriptive review.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I totally agree with you. It seems that we, too often, do not thoroughly research the possible risks before charging ahead with new technology. A great example would be with the new phones which come out at an amazing rate and then the constant updates to fix all the bugs
