Do you discuss a book after reading

Yeah of course. After snape killed dumbledore I argued with my friends for hours about if he was good or not (I knew he was, it was obvious) I'm dying to talk about the latest book I read but it seems like none of my friends have read it a. Black as night by daniel mckay. I can only find it on amazon but If anyone has read this please let me know I so want to talk about the ending!

I post the books I read on my book blog. Sometimes with friends that are readers like me I'll mention the book I just read to them.
When a good book captures me then, I know I've found happiness.

I love discussing books with anyone who has read the same book and enjoy when we have differing opinions as that makes it so much more lively. Although at the same time I like to have one like minded individual with me!

What I don't like is to discuss or rather speculate about the next book in a series. I'd rather just anticipate it without having any theories or conspiracies or whatever swimming around in my head, because if a theory comes true then I don't enjoy it as much because it doesn't come as a surprise. Which is why I was so peeved at my cousins and sisters for endlessly discussing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, guessing everything about horcruxes etc that the book was a little ruined for me (not that it isn't still excellent!)

It's a good thing to discuss a book after you read it. It's all a matter of sharing what you have learned, what you feel and what you experience after and while reading the book. However, never discuss the book to someone who is not yet done reading the same book. :)

I try but people always roll their eyes and call me a nerd or a bookworm. Either that or they do that thing where they say "uh huh" and "yea" and "really" every so often so that they think that they 'appear' to be listening. But I'm glad the forum is here, so that I can dicuss books I've read when I want to without critisim about the fact that I like to read.

A wonderful way to discuss books is a book group but for those who don't have access to one, check out local libraries for discussion groups. We have a local book store that offers discussion groups as well. Also I have a friend that will stop at a book store and discuss a book she is reading with one of the sellers...usually people who sell books are very knowledgable. ....or start a group with just a few fellow readers! I find discussing books as well as reading books equally enjoyable!

Sometimes the author has a webpage ...Link to that and you may be exposed to new insites coming right from the author!! There's often question and answer interviews on Amazon...or just google the author or the book title and you may find some info...I think if you can't find the right person these suggestions may be an alternative!

I also post books on my blog....which I can't mention yet.....and that's a good way for me to keep track and also share opinions. The kindle archive is an excellent tool that jogs my memory all the time!!!

I will if there is someone to talk to and willing listen (especially if it’s inspirational story). :P

I'll speak about the book to anyone who will listen.
Part of enjoying a book is discussing it, commenting on it, reviewing it, and reccomending it to others.

I haven't discussed many books but I sometimes get the chance to and even write a small review as well. I belong to a well known book site that allows reviews and discussion in their forums.

I only usually discuss books with my mom. Or like I write about what I just read in essay form and don't share it. Most of the people I know don't read or really write anything. So I just keep to myself. Though in high school I did love to talk about books I was reading with my English teacher. Which always seemed to surprise him because he thought I couldn't read... :?
