This one just isn’t my cup of tea, but I am glad you enjoyed it. I was a bit stumped by the opening pages as to what time period this was set in. I thought it was maybe Ancient Greece, but you cleared that up in the review by mentioning it was the future. Thank you for the insight on this one. Sounds well done but just not for me.

Good review. I’m interested to see if Andreas finds his parents. This seems very closely related to how the world acts today. I’m also glad this is a stand alone book, you review has given this book a fascinating viewpoint and I’m excited to read it.

This is an interesting science fiction fantasy novel on discrimination, war, conflict, suspense, and determination. The book has a free sample on Amazon Kindle and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review that I enjoyed. Congrats @christopherjp16 on the BOTD selection.

Sounds like a great book for sci fi nuts. It's particularly good to hear that the character development is a strong feature of this one, as this can often be a neglected area in this type of book. Great review!

An excellent review of a book that I equally liked, for the same reasons you mentioned. I suppose the only "bad" feature, that you also mentioned, is the conclusion that one needs to trust nobody to prevail. Not a very optimistic thought.
Thank you for the review! :tiphat:

I appreciate that, though there is explicit content, none of it is gratuitous. It sounds like a book that's right up my alley. There's such a big difference between the two races that I can see how it will create problems. Thanks for a great review.

In my opinion, the power of telepathy does have incredible speed, wow.. . even able to prevent alien attempts to enslave humans. This is a very extraordinary effort for humanity. I hope Andreas Marset, a young legioner as well as an Arpathian, can be a savior of mankind. An extraordinary story, which certainly comes from extraordinary imagination as well.

Science fiction blended with fantasy isn't really my kind of genre but Masters and Bastards by Christopher J. Penington seems an amazing read. I will consider reading it. Great review.

A nice blend of fantasy and sci-fiction in the book "Masters and Bastards" by Christopher J. Penington. The story is set in another galaxy after the Earth was destroyed. The story follows Andreas Marset, who is the hero of the novel and belong to group Arpathians, who are under privileged to another group Iberians. The story appears to be entertaining.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.
