Give me the real thing any day! Who doesn't love to flip through the pages of the real thing?

I just love the smell of a paper book, nothing is better than walking into an old bookstore and smelling those treasures.... but I also agree with the convenience of the e-readers, I't is much more convenient to grab your kindle than to pack 10 or more books into your suitcase....

I have a iPad in which I download a lot of books, but my personal preference is to have an actual book. I love the smell and feel of a real book. Usually the only time I use my iPad for reading is for late at night.

Of course, I believe that a real book brings about a better experience overall. I don't know why, it just does. You know what I mean? However, eBooks shan't be overridden. They are so accessible nigh where ever you are, and there isn't really a limit to what you can read. Plus, they allow you access to global books with just a few touches of a screen. Thus, my system is this: read an eBook, and if I really enjoy it, I buy the real thing. You know, that "awesome" feeling when you see your own full bookshelf ^.^

I love the age and times we live in. Never before has it been so easy to travel and have so much reading material available at your fingertips. Current ereaders can carry 1,500 titles or more. What more could a person ask for? Stuck in a long waiting line? Have an hour train commute to work? Lying around on a lounger at the beach? Just whip out your trusty Nook or Kindle.
On the other hand, there is just something down right comforting about holding a physical book in your hands. There is also the smell of a book to consider..never mind the fact that this is nothing more than glue, ink and mildew you are smelling. It evokes a time when that was the only way to really read a book! I don't get that sensation from my Kindle. The Kindle doesn't look nearly as impressive sitting on the bookshelves beside the fireplace as my collection of books either. My books have taken a lifetime to collect. They have moved from place to place with me, and seen many changes in my life. I revisit them like old friends. I will never feel that way about my Kindle though I can appreciate it for what it is and isn't.

I got a Kindle HD for Christmas. I really enjoy the Kindle, especially the sample narration. I buy my books that are in series or are historical books in print, and my stand alone books on my Kindle. I'm a little torn right now on which one I like reading better, but you can never go wrong with having a physical bookshelf.

Been reading forever on paper books but since last Christmas getting my kindle I have noticed I read more usually a new book every 2 or 3 days. My favorite thing to do is read. Just seems easier now with ebooks. I don't have to go to library now, but to me a book is a book so I'll read either.

Honestly It depends on the book, for me.

If the book is something I really enjoy, I will most definitely get a physical copy.

But for most others I will have a digital collection-- for convenience.

the kindles are great, they increase the number of books you can get into a really small space, but it can never really replace curling up with a good book, the smell the feeling and all can not be mimicked by an ebook reader

I don't really understand the Ebook phase that seems to be sweeping around lightly! You can't swap books, you can't feel that excitement of TURNING a page.. It's just not the same!! You don't have tear stains, coffee marks!!

For me a real book with paper pages. I love a new one that smells wonderful when newly cracked open, in addition I love used books, where I can imagine who has read and enjoyed it before. Also, if I fall asleep in bed while reading I can't damage a paperback when I roll on it!

I'm not the biggest fan of ebooks because I like to have a physical copy of what I«m reading and since I don't have an ereader, I can carry the book with me to everywhere I go. Besides, I think that reading on a computer or on a ereader makes my eyes feel tired a lot more quickly.

Hi Everyone, I'm new here. I like the good old paperbacks or hardcovers. Ebooks are convenient, but every once in a while it's nice to actually hold the book in hand and turn the pages. Nothing like the smell of new and crisp pages.

I like ebooks. Because Ebook offers more convenience than a paper book. And lot more features like dictionary, book mark, sharing, etc. Atleast, i'm saving some trees ! :)

Book or eReader? Not that big a deal to me. However, I really cannot see myself parting with my eReader; it makes a lot less noise at night so I don't disturb the 'parentals' and I can manipulate so much aspects of the book to make the reading experience that much better.
