Personally, I haven't been to any of the beautiful places in the book. But I would really love to go to Australia, it sounds really adventurous.

The Northern Lights have always fascinated me, ever since I was a kid and saw them on TV. And this book makes me want to go to Iceland to actually experience the wonder myself.

I have traveled quite a bit, but never to any of those locations. I enjoyed the descriptions of the people and their cultures.

Sadly I haven't been to any of the locations but I would love to visit Japan and his descriptions are really tempting.
We will have our ups and downs, regardless of who we are. When we fall, we peel ourselves off the asphalt and get back up. If we need to cry, then we cry. And when we’re ready, we get back up and move forward again.

I've never travelled to any of the locations, but my brother is working in Fiji right now. He's having an excellent time and says it's very beautiful there. I can only hope that I get to go at some point!

But I definitely have Australia and Japan on my list of countries to visit before I die. Hopefully Australia will have had time to heal by then
I have been to Hawaii but unfortunately not to Kauai, which I hear from everyone is the best of them all. I will have to go back someday and make sure I get to see it for myself.

The descriptions in the book were awesome. I think he was writing from experience, right? I was looking for a clue that this was a memoir-type piece but I couldn't find anything.
You have some good excuses to go to great places! Yes, I believe the author is a travel blogger in addition to an author, so I assume he's probably been to the locations he's writing about. Being a travel blogger would be a dream job for me!

This is on our bucket list too. My husband and I were planning to go do the Inca trail, but our daughter wants to come with us :shock2: so we will have to wait until she's old enough to keep up. Hope I'm not too old by then!

I have never traveled to any of the destinations in the book, unfortunately. My sister and her then-boyfriend vacationed in Peru a few years ago and got engaged in Machu Picchu! After they returned from their trip and told me about their experiences, I decided that I need to add it to my bucket list!
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

I've never personally been to any of the places in the book, but I know people who have and they always come home with amazing details and descriptions! The book seems to describe things in wonderfully vivid detail!

I was beyond amazing. And a strange aside is that one of the friends that I went on this trip with is a Navy retiree. She was deathly afraid of the water! I'm like the Man Mission men, I dive in without looking for sharks!
